Default Hi from south side Va.

I wanted to say hi and say how much I like these forums. I try to get to read them daily and have learned much since first discovering it.
I have put in my signature what I/ we have been working on of late and is still in the tuning stage. I owe a lot to you all for sharing your knowledge which put me on the course of turboing my car.

Jim

The turbo is a hybrid but is more or less a GT2554R, oil and water cooled. No dyno numbers yet.

I picked up one of those turbos at the junkyard. I couldn't get over the fact that they had a 3 liter engine huffing through that little thing. The one I have has a giant cast outlet on it. I haven't ever done anything with it, but you can never have too many old turbos laying around.

I autocross the car and wanted a fast spool up. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone with a housing that had a more common flange. I had to have a machine shop make me the flange for the downpipe to attatch to. The huge cast that you reffer to would put the downpipe through the hood, lol.

300ZX's from the '80s athsmatically breathed through just one. I removed one back in April. Exhaust was from both banks into one teeny turbo.
The 1984 to 1987 turbo models had a Garrett T3, whereas 1988 to 1989 models had a single T25.

The 1990 and up twin turbos used two T25s.
