hi im sean
hi, im sean!
first id like to start by saying i love the attitude of this forum. ive been a part of to many forums where peoples feelings were more important than getting the facts straight. or where you couldnt tell someone they were ignorant without warnings from the admins, etc. **** that.
my friend and i bought a mostly stock 90 miata that we picked up ealry in 2012. we specifically bought it as a track toy as we both had the itch. we split everything down the middle. so far we have installed a boss frog clearview maxx, 15x7 konigs with 205 kuhmo xs tires, frog frame rails, f1 clutch, 11lb FW, and a few other things. i have some custom chassis stiffening in the works and a vmaxx track pack and FM sways sitting on the shelf waiting for me to find time and good weather.
after only 1 season of N/A, we are bored with the power. i got a td0413t for $50 in pretty good shape, i rebuilt it anyway and ported it while i was at it. now im in the process of making my log manifold and a down pipe. i will purchase an ms2 soon, and tune it for n/a until i get the rest of the turbo parts and do the swap; that will get my feet wet with megasquirt.
a build thread will ensue, i own 2 cats, and my daily is an ej255.
here are some pics for fun.

as stated above i have a vmaxx track pack sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed. i would like to do my cowl bracing first though, diy frog arms. turbo tires are undecided, i need to get some better wheels though that are wider and lighter.
the club i run with is super "laid back", they dont check much of anything and mostly leave it up to you to make sure everything is good to go. you cant tell, but mine is a little above too, even when i settle down into the seat the best i can, im 6ft. one of the next mods, hopefully before this winter will be a proper seat and harness. then i can drop my *** down a couple inches.
thanks guys
Sounds like a good start. Surprised they let your passenger ride along with the helmet above the rollbar.
thanks guys

Great introductory post, Sean. We need more new folks like you. The recent influx of CR rejects has been a pain.
I've always had a soft spot for a white Miata. I sometimes regret selling my White 95 and keeping the Red 92.
Being that you have a 90, keep an eye out for any wobbling in the crank. It's a known issue in the early cars that can be easily and reliably fixed if caught in time. Of course if the crank does eat up the keyway, it's a wonderful excuse to throw in a 1.8.
Now, pictures of kitties.

and yea, club roadster seems pretty lame, havnt spent much time on there and don't plan to.
I have been keeping an eye on the crank and pulley. it seems good so far, im surprised it hasn't given me any issues being at 155k. the timing belt is due in another 20k or so, I can do a real assessment then. if it gives me any **** at all, a 1.8 will replace it, not even worth screwing with in my opinion. ill just have to make a 1.8 mani.
I forgot to post the helmet cam!
I made a roll bar mount.
this is my favorite one, I get sideways a few times. these cameras never do it justice though. even in 1080hd.
I have many more vids on my channel
