I've got a somewhat full weekend... working tomorrow morning, then Crystal has her first weekend off in about... a year? So we're hanging out since we see each other about once a week.
Free monday-thursday afternoon/evenings next week. Friday is prepping for trip. Saturday morning i'll be in San Diego, then i'm going to drive 2100 miles home in time for work on Monday.

Brakes are definitely noted. I have a larger radiator due to a thermostat blowing apart after a day of racing in the past. I currently have a friend fabbing a roll bar for me modeled after a hard dog. Also waiting on my fm happy meal which is on back order and have tien street advanced coilovers but thats really it as far as suspension in concerned.
Definitely interested in seeing the end result of this.
Stand by.
Yes, we are idiots and failure prone.

Drifting is the figure skating of motorsports.
It is not timed.
It has judges.
There are points awarded for style.
They play music over the PA.
And there are silly outfits.
I often hear the argument that drifting takes a lot of skill and practice. Hello? Figure skating.
Watch this. **** gets real at about 1:10

The Miata has a low polar moment of inertia, making it a very poor choice for drifting. It is the same trait that makes it a very good road racing car. It is far easier to set and hold a drift angle with many other cars. Look at what the people in the videos in Japan are driving to drift. There is a good reason why they choose other platforms. And it the reason most Miatas that American children try to drift end up badly damaged. Poorly suited tool for the job mated with inexperienced operators equals catastrophic body damage. It is a predictable outcome.
