Default Hello from Michigan

Been creeping around this site for a couple years now I appreciate the knowledge and the minimal BS on this forum.I finally decided I should actually say hi as my miata is taking more of my "fun car" duties now that my mustang has been sold.
A little about me: live in the detroit metro area and work for a large oem (that will remain unnamed) doing engine calibration, specifically driveability work. I do a few autoxs and a couple track days a year but mostly the miata is used to tool around on nice days in the summer.
My car: 10AE miata, ~45k miles, my dad bought it new in 1999, I bought it from him a couple years ago when he decided he "needed" a boxster S. Its mostly stock right now (aside from little stuff like rad, coolant reroute and brake pads). I recently sold the coyote powered mustang i was using for track days (more power than I should have been driving at my skill level anyway) so the miata will now have to take over that duty, as it was formerly just an autox car. I installed a BFW GT3 and some sprint Vs in the car to make it legal/safe.

For now, I will just be getting the car ready with stock power to be reliable and fun, if I can find a good deal on a turbo/rotrex setup I might jump on that. Boring intro, but figured it should be done.

Welcome! Nice car and nice rollbar.

I happen to have a nice complete turbo kit, and would be willing to deliver.

Im new as well but welcome.

I have a friend in the Detroit area who works for a large OEM as well. I believe he's a design engineer but I forget what specifically. He's an RSX guy though. K24 swapped and pretty well built for the road course.

Like the seats - welcome. Did the seats fit without significant modification to trans tunnel?

I know a guy with a Coyote(cobra engine) swapped foxbody owned by a guy who does engine calibration for Ford. Odd coincidence.

There are a ton of Miatas around here, there used to be a turbo 10AE and a supercharged 10AE in the area at one point.

Thanks, I am running the PCI seat mounts, very nice quality, but i did have to do some "massaging" (read 5lb sledge) on the driver side to the tunnel to get them to fit. I don't regret it, the seat is definitely more centered with the wheel than it was stock.

I am always amazed by the amount of miatas I see around here being the land of the big 3. Sounds like I'm late to the party on boost, hopefully I'll get that sorted out by next winter...

There's also an LS1 swapped 10AE owner that works for GM in Milford! At one point like 11% of my company owned at least one Miata. I'm not at am OEM, but an Engineering Services company in SE Michigan.

Hey welcome to the forum! Seems there is more Michiganders than I thought around here.

I'm local and been considering parting my car out for some time. I'll be in touch haha
