But my wife may question my sexuality if I buy a Miata, even for a track toy.

How do I convince her I haven't swapped teams on her?

Or should I just hide it in the closet....err, I mean the other garage and only bring it out when I wear my Affliction shirts and sequined jeans?

Thanks for any advice. This is kind of a life changing decision since I have been nurtured to despise Miatas.

Seriously, one of my friends has a MSM and he is prodding me to get one for our track days. It is a hoot to watch him chase down GT3s at Roebling Road.

Come to Road Atlanta Dec 1-2 so we can gay it up together.

And there are better, cheaper options than the MSM Miata since most of the factory turbo parts are garbage and will need to be junked for serious power anyway. Many of the luxury parts are heavy/useless on a track car.

Would love to come to RA and really want to go to AMP soon. Sold my 911SC earlier this year so the last few track days I have taken my piggy Caddy.

So I'm hunting for a turbo Miata, preferably in the southeast.

They are out there, I would also advise steering clear of the MSM because if you decide you want more power, you will be junking most of the factory turbo stuff.

I don't wear skinny jeans. I don't wear anything at all.

Welcome! Just take her for a ride when you get one, that'll change her mind. My wife liked mine so much she had one of her own for a while.

It also sounds like you're either here in GA or at least close by, this member is in McDonough I believe and selling his sorted turbo NB for a very good price: https://www.miataturbo.net/cars-sale...a-55051/page7/

+1 for riding in it. Few people 'get' miatas until they have a ride in one.

So my homophobic redneck co-worker thinks I'm gay because I drive a Miata. He'll go so far as to move his truck to another parking space if I park next to him. I've made a deal with my fiancee that should they ever meet, she needs to work the word "beard" repeatedly into conversations.

Welcome, I'm sure you'll fit right in around here.

My wife hates the miata, thinks its gay. She grew up around muscle cars, anything without a rumbling V8 is worthless.

She came with me to my first track event last month. As we were setting up, a very large group of new Camaros drove by. She muttered something just loud enough for me hear about how it was nice to see some real cars here.

As it turns out, most of them were in my white group. In the afternoon when we finally were able to pass each other I was able to pass all but two of them (no greatness on my part, they just were more lame than me). She was even standing next to some of their family as I was reeling one of them in. She said they were yelling "don't let that f-----ng miata pass you!" and were pissed when I did.

The point of all this is, when loaded up the car and started home, she apologized for all the trash talking she did on the miata.

Take her to the track and give here a ride in it. Once you get it dialed.

My wife screamed like I was kicking her puppy the only time she ever rode with me.

No way Spooky would get in a car with me on the track. Really and truly she couldn't care less about my cars and never gives me grief when I bring home toys.

I prefer the term "Keyboard Kools".

BTW, I can't even drive a Miata on this Forza 4 game. Is that telling me something? I can drive an ACR but not a Miata.
