Hailing from UT.
Hey there, I'm Nate, from NY but landed in beautiful Utah... I've always had a passion for automotive performance and have owned more cars than I can remember. I've recently picked up an 01 miata (last summer) and ended up deciding to turbo it. Always good to have a support system when you gain a new kid, so here I am. I've done a fully built boosted civic and found that community fairly helpful and that experience quite enlightening, giving me the confidence to drive into this one. Since I moved to UT I found a very involved and friendly racing community. I have been running a 125 shifter kart in the scca autocross events held a couple times a month for the last 2 yrs, stepping up into a miata for this season and can't wait. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
The project, a black 01 miata with auto trans and cut off spring "lowering kit. Obviously this just couldn't stand so after some searching I landed on the flyin miata fox suspension and a turbo build using a gt2871. Currently in process but reaching completion shortly, just a few loose ends to work out, maybe get some help from you guys in the process. Initially I'm on stock internals so hp will be reasonable but once I get the motor built in planning on 400hp +/-50, sitting on slicks. Mostly for autocross in ssm with occasional track time.

Figure since my issues are becoming a conglomerate and more along the lines of my project as it comes to life, this is probably a better spot to continue the conversation. For reference and data, this is the original post;

In any case, just got back from a good day of street tuning and I think I'm getting some of it worked out. There was a combination of my fuel numbers, above 6psi being a bit off, plus the way I had the boost control setup, created a situation that cut my engine. But not really a cut so much as a stumble, watching my tuner studio everything read back just fine however the tach on my car dropped to 0 until i put the clutch in and let it out, then it would read correctly. Easing into it on the highway I was able to pull into 7-10 psi as auto tune corrected but if i go wot it will still cut out, so there is more to do, and my 31/32 errors will be created at that time still also. So, I'll work on that more and maybe get it worked out. The bypass in the turbo seems to make a bit of noise when I ease in, idk if there could be something going on there. I was able to boost no problem before the firmware/cpu crashed. Along with that issue I still get the "controller error:" popup any time I try to save the auto tune changes to the ecu and have to shut the car down and reconnect to the laptop to save the differences in the files to the ecu. And then there's the fan, which did cause my car to overheat a couple times now that it's warmer out. It will cycle on and off quickly after a cold start and when it's warmed up, it won't stay on constantly, even when overheating. Other than that everything looks good! Hopefully I can get this worked out in the next week and actually make my first race this season... Thanks to everyone who has helped so far and for any other inputs, as always, will be very helpful...
