Greetings from Redding
Hello!
I'm relatively new to the world of Miata, having bought my first one just a couple months ago--a completely stock 1991 Silverstone (excepting the Cobalt exhaust installed by the PO). It's been a long time since I've had to purchase a used car, so it is not to wonder that I had lost whatever car skills I had when I was younger. But the Miata has had me getting back into doing general maintenance/small repair work, not to mention thinking up stuff all day long as to what I can to do make little improvements here and there. I had forgotten how much fun this was!
Anyhow, I joined this forum because it seems there is a lot of great info on this site for the Miata enthusiast. I am unsure at this time if I will be putting a turbo on my Miata but the idea sure does intrigue me. That's why I'm here. I've been doing quite a bit of reading on turbocharging for the past month trying to grasp the basics. If I ever do turbo my car, however, I do know that I won't need gobs of power (no more than, say, 150hp). I don't race and I don't autocross, but I do like get out with the wife and take on the many twisty back roads we have here in the surrounding area. A bit more power and a bit quicker acceleration would make me very happy in my little car. But again I'll just have to wait and see if this is the route I will go.
Attached is a pic of my '91 with Mt. Lassen in the background.
