Finally Making My First Post :)
Hello all,
I bought my miata in 2017, a 1.8l 1994 C package with 109k original miles, from the originally owner for $4200. I was set on turboing this car from the start, but that would come later.
First mod was actually a Hard Dog Single Diagonal roll bar, I'm not sure why this was my choice of a first mod since I was still in high school at the time and most kids were slapping on fart cans.
Anyways, the next thing I did was coil overs. I bought TEIN Street Basis Z coil overs, for now the car would only be street driven so I didn't need anything crazy so these did the trick. Around the same time I got a set or Federal 595 RSR tires in 185/55/r14 which actually proved to be quite grippy but the road noise was loud.
After this, an opportunity popped up to buy a hardtop so I jumped on it and I have to say, the hardtop makes the car look really good.
So I finally felt that I had the courage to start doing some mods in the realm of power. I bought a SpeedyEFI Speeduino stand alone ECU and a Innovate MTXL Plus Wide band and tuned the car to the point where it ran like stock, safe AFRs and no knock. Towards the end of this summer, after much extensive research on this forum and m.net, I began ordering parts for my somewhat budget build. I will do a more detailed post on it later but its late now so I will just explain the basics.
I figured out which size turbo I wanted, an eBay 2871 with a .48 trim compressor trim. Yea I know, its an eBay turbo, not the greatest but I do plan on replacing it with a genuine Garrett or other quality brand in the future. I bought a BEGi cast turbo manifold and some 2.5 inch exhaust piping so I could have a custom down pipe made. I bought an eBay inter cooler and some inter cooler piping from eBay as well. For the rest of the little bits and pieces I sourced them from eBay.
As of now the car is running pretty well and I am surprised with the fact I was able to do this project, it wouldn't have been possible without you guys tho and I cannot thank you all enough for the amazing amounts of information you have compiled over the years.
