Fat Aussie in Central NY
Greetings.
Writing this from a motel 6 in Lexington VA. Yesterday I dragged a uhaul trailer down ans picked up a dog dick red (it is anlittle pink on the bumber and tombstone) 95 NA from Salem VA.
took me 6 months to get one, was saving my pennies as I didn't want a 1500 buck "only done 5 NY winters" on racelands 1.6. I missed a bargain basement 01 or 02 the the leather, 6 speed and 3.9 when i drove 4h to get it and the guy sold it from under me back in september.
anyways, this thing has a JRSC M45 on it, ground control coilovers, racing beat header and sway bars and a few other things. DW310 injectors, heavy clutch, walbro. Had a quick look at receipts and a heap from TDR. Various pulleys included. Amd no rust. Clean tub.
engine management.
Currently has the JR powercard thingee, and will roll coal at WOT with like 10:1 afr, so the PO bought an MSPNP2. He installed it last week and it ran but untuned. So those are my options. I think I will use it as is and swap the MSPNP in and out til it runs well.
and long term **** it all off for an MS3 because resolution, idle bump for AC and knock sensor. Cos when the salt is down 5 months of the year I got nothing but time.
long term goals are ptobably turbomb. The MK stuff loks pretty good bang for buck and I have a lot of the supporting stuff in place. Or a kraken td04 setup.
right now, get the thing home and get it running nicely ans enjoy it.
about me- aussie, moved here from oz 9 years ago. Wprk as a chemist in a pharmaceutical plant. Left behind an E30 with a 2.7, schrick cam, 4.1 LSD, coilovers and autronic SMC ecu, also a bmw 2002 rally car with webers. My dad used to have a 71 2002 touring with a turbo, garrett t28 from an s14a, BB, haltech e6a, about 265hp. On 24psi. Had the dyno chart. Guessing that means stock porting and more a sign of restriction and a silly PO. Tried to stick me in the wall at eastern creek a couple times. Was a handful
daily is an 03 4runner v8. Bought a 2002 RC51 but don't really use it so now I have decided I like men I will be selling it. One toy for another.

Thanks. Been lurking a while and reading. Quite possibly. I am under an hour from the NY safety track, and a guy from work has done a couple SCCA autocrosses down in binghamton, so might tag along for a couple.
I used to do them in oz in my 2002 and E30 (did oran park, eastern creek, wakefield park and philip island) so may not require much arm twistage. 2h to watkins glen, 3 to lime rock park. Gotta check them off the bucket list, right? Probably biggest thing before I do that is assess cooling.
