Default evening

im sam, from new zealand(south of australia, not a PART of australia), im 25, and since my girlfriend left me, im back to working on cars

i own a na 1990 miata, i intend on turboing it
im fairly noobish, but have a history of working on mk1 mr2s

at this point in time im working out exactly what ms2 setup i want, and what extras, interesting stuff indeed since i have no previous experience in tuning
i have been doing alot of reading over the last month or so on your site

im also waiting the arrival of a evo 7 td05-16g, wondering if this will be donated to the miata or the mr2 i have that has a fully rebuilt 4agze

im looking foward to learning more about forced induction setups on these cars

thanks for your time

**** Sam, with so many automotive projects, no wonder the gf said goodbye!

Good job on the MR2.

You won't catch any flak from me on the MR2. I'm currently helping a friend swap a silvertop into his '86 and then I'll have to wire it for the blacktop ECU that's going in it (he's color blind, so wiring isn't his bag). Great cars.

On that note, the MR2 is a bit heavier than the miata and you will get a much more noticeable increase in speed/$ if you boost the miata. We are a bit biased in regards to helping you make that decision obviously

yeah the mr2 is a "bit" heavier? well i guess its how you look at it
the miata is 940 kg on oppose to the japanese model mr2 998kg(for some reason the us model is 50kg heavier) but ive read in other places the mr2 was 998kg and the miata 997,

considering ive stripped the aw11 of everything that isnt needed for it to drive but still allows me a wof(except for the heater unit-and their is alot of other stuff to take out) the mr2 is light

as for speed for $ i dont have to do the computer on the mr2 up to 160rwkw(injectors max out) since it was originally supercharged
the engine sits over the driving wheels, at the rear, so whenever you put your foot down, the wedge moves like a dart

not to mention in the 1.6 vs 1.6 category the 4agze/4age pwnz the miata hands down, you can only have one engine prodigy at a time, in the 80s is was toyota

but id rather drive an mx5 than a mr2, because theirs no fun like sideways fun

and theirs nothing scarier than having the weight in the back of an mr2 controlling your fate
if they designed the mx5 with a 4agze they would have something that would bring a tear to my eye

nah she moved to nz capital city for uni, about 5 hours drive from here, so it was a good decision on her behalf

with some luck ill be buying the ms comp next week for the miata, ill buy an old ecu and convert the plugs so i can still daily drive it while i give her the tune, that is up untill i put the 3sgte injectors in it

ill keep the mr2 for a month or so then flick it, i need funding for the chevron(that box section chassis with the series 7 engine in it)
im still waiting for the ev0 7 turbo to turn up so i can get some flanges lazercut(its in the mail), spent today putting billsteins in the miata, im not heavy enough to push the front right control arm down to insert the shock, so im waiting till a mate turns up so i can polish it off and take her for a spin

a part of me is thinking to put the td05 on the mazda, blow it up, then drop a gtx engine in, but im not sure if say 1.8 cas will fit in place of the gtx dizzy? im gunna have to do a bit more research on that idea

i believe the gtx engine would be well suited for the td05

Peace
