Checking in from ATL
Hi all. Checking in from ATL. I bought an 03 NB in the summer of '17 and have slowly building it into a dual purpose track car and weekend fun car. I signed up for the doomed Skip Barber 3 day MX-5 school but they went bankrupt before my class occurred. Thankfully AMEX refunded my deposit so it could have been worse.
I've done four track days so far - all at Atlanta Motorsports Park. I love that track and have learned a lot from the friendly, experienced drivers and have made multiple new friends. I just did the 1.5 hour Porsche Experience at the ATL track yesterday in a Carrera S Manual. Crazy, awesome car with insane technology, including auto rev matches on down shifts - no need to heal/toe. Ironically, I think (at this point in my driving experience) the Miata is more pure fun to drive with the complete absence of traction control, auto rev matches and even ABS.
I'm looking forward the the 2018 track days and plan to go to Barber, RA and Roebling Road this year. I'm here to learn. Cheers.
