Back in the Miata family
Hey all! I'm officially back in the family. This is miata number 3 for me- first NB.
My first was a 93- pretty lightly modded
My second was a smurf, boosted to the eyeballs (240 RWHP) and lots of suspension and brake work.
Now- a 99 NB with a Jackson M45, hard dog bar, harnesses, FM V maxx coil overs- exedy upgraded clutch, mishimoto radiator, fm butterfly brace, hawk HP's, new RE11's, stainless lines, slotted rotors, 01 exhaust manifold, FM MSM front sway, hard top, Torsen, TD belt adjustment plate, home built exhaust.
Leather package car with a foamectomy, 01+ center console. He also did some additional sound deadening.
The prior owner was a 50+ year old with 30 years in the auto industry (mobile electronics shop currently) and built the car to be a great track car that is also livable on the street. Pretty much what I was looking for.
I spent 4 hours driving from stockton to reno last week- car is great!!
I was initially not thrilled about the JR setup, but it's pretty nice. Great throttle response, total stock startup and manners- and the SC whine is really addictive. I can see why a cold side 62 would be a trip. I love the instant torque- top end punch is missing though. I would say it is a quick car now- can at least defend itself on a straight and destroy almost anything on a canyon road!
We will see how long the JR M45 stays on, but for now, I am working on injectors (ID 725's ordered), A MS2E ordered (reverant- 35 day wait...), and working on intercooling and boosting. I am not spending much $$ on things that can't be adapted to a turbo down the road.
Good to be back!
