Another lurker becomes a full-fledged newb.
Been lurking around the forum for a few months, joined earlier this month and decided it was time to post up.
Just purchased my '99 with 71k at the end of Dec last year. It's replacing my '82 Trans Am that has a carbed 350 and an amazing 9 to the gallon. So far I'm loving the car, and the only thing it seems to need is...boost.
I've been trying to decide between turbo or super as I start saving up for one or the other. I'll be doing mostly street driving, with a max goal (for now, anyway) of 200whp. Lately leaning towards turbo, but I've never ridden in any FI car, so I don't really know how either option feels. (Entry level) turbo kits are a bit cheaper though, which is always good for the college student on a budget.
I'd like to get into autoXing, so far I've only been to 1. Took first place (stock class) from the guys in the Sac miata club (SAMOA) though!
I'll probably return to just lurking around here until I have the funds to start my turbo install. Timeline- no later than the start of next summer.
This is the only pic I have of my car, and it's not even that good. Took with my phone, and the paint is really much better than that.
Other pic is my other hobby, flying rc helicopters. It takes a lot of concentration and practice, but it's a fun way to spend a day.
And yeah, I know I choose a pretty gay name. It's been with me for like 10 years, so
Mods, praise my awesome first post for its epic-ness or ban as you see fit. And Hustler, your e-thugging is legendary...bring it on.
