3rd post
For those of you who didn't see my screen name, my name is Alex
20 years old, live in New Mexico. About to start my 3rd year at NMSU, my major is mechanical engineering (original, right?) Had my red 94 R package for 1.5 years now. Love it. Broke it. Fixed it. Now building motor due to low compression.
While I'm in there, 2mm overbore 11:1 pistons from FM (if they ever ship), oversized valves. Plan on Megasquirt II. I need to do some more research to make sure it's what I want/need. Next summer ($$$ permitting) i plan for begi-s, X brand intercooler, bigger injectors, WI (still need much more research), and a clutch. Looking for 6 PSI maybe 200 whp. I know with the 11:1 it's going to need a stupid good tune and some luck, but I think I can do it. I'm not to far from FM, maybe I can take it up to their dyno and they can help me. Ive also got a copy of Maximum Boost and I read it when ever I'm bored.
Anyway I've been lurking for a few months reading write ups from brainiak (sp?) and JoeP. I got bored at work today and made a post, so I thought I better introduce myself. I'm also on miata.net with the same name, and have defiantly made my share of noob posts. Savington and markp were very helpfull there and I bet they will be here too.
Thanks -- Alex
