Say I quote this post, it takes me to the "advanced editor" page.
If I scroll down, I can see the "Topic review" section. A chronologically inverted copy of all the posts in this thread so far. Super handy for making posts referencing things been said or pictured before.
I can see Msmola2002's picture in the "topic review," same as I'd be able to see the original sales images a little further down, but since you've used that stupid *** gallery thing it's just text, no photos. Appended with whatever text you used to make that misplaced title block...
Please for the love of ******* god quit trying to push the **** you ruin your other forums with. I don't know if you've noticed, but the vast majority of them are hot useless garbage. Is that what you want?

i got it, thank you. thanks for your feedback above as well. it makes complete sense and is perhaps the beat feedback i’ve yet received about the marketplace.

That's bad math.
Current FS forum generates 100% of FS clicks.
"Marketplate" generates 120% of clicks that were present on FS forum.
Having both means you still get the majority of the FS clicks (as evidenced by recent polling here), but also means you gain the additional from the smoothbrains who actually like Marketplace.
Plus some people who drool on themselves and click both.
Duplicate content doesn't hurt from a click perspective, ever. It's actually impossible.

So, one problem with doing a Marketplace style listing is that you have to drill down through a couple options first before you can write your post.
Say I want to list a bunch of parts I have. The best catagory to start with is 'Part Out'. Then you have to choose a model year. They may not be for, or from a specific year car. This may be somewhat inconsequential, but with the number of engine swaps on this forum "1990 Miata" isn't really a great descriptor of what the parts are from. The other option is Parts for Sale, but you can only select one catagory at a time.

One more thing.
Look at how the page behaves under different screen sizes.
If I make the window narrow, a lot of space gets wasted in black bars for the image widget and important information on the right gets unnecessarily cut off.
If I make the screen wide, the image widget stays the same width and the stuff on the right gets needlessly stretched, wasting space that should be dedicated to the image widget.
You have an error in the way your layouts are interacting. The text should be almost fixed-width. Once the box is large enough to not need to be cropped, it should never grow any larger. The image widget should grow to fill available space once the text box has reached its full size. I'm guessing this is a limitation of the ancient forum software. Time to move forward to a modern stack...

oh we can surely dream.
whether we move to the marketplace here or otherwise, the feedback I've got from you all in this thread has honestly been the best, most clear and provides me with some actionable changes to improve the marketplace (and the mobile theme) elsewhere at the very least. much appreciated.
