Miatas at Hallett 2016
From Connie:
Hello, Miata family!
Just a friendly reminder to make sure you have marked your 2016 calendar
for Miatas@Hallett the second weekend in September – the 9th and 10th.
Per usual, we have a block of rooms reserved at the Hampton in Sand Springs.
Call 918-245-8500 and use the Group Code MIA
If you want visual memories of the fun we always have at this event . . . .
click Miatas@Hallett2015
We are sending email invitations to all the expanded-area Miata Clubs. If you
know a Miata enthusiast, please extend an invite to this memorable event
at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. If they have questions about the event give
them my email and/or phone # and share Tim’s photo link.
Registration online will open April 1, 2016.
Looking forward to another great field of Miata enthusiasts throughout the
2016 season at Hallett. There are at least 18 different days of High Speed
Touring scheduled for those who want to come to the track more than the
one time in September.
Thank you,
Connie Stephens

Jennings, OK 74038
(918) 585-1900 office (weekdays)
(918) 356-4814 track (weekends)
This is a really fun event. Last year the turnout was low (me included -- I was in Europe). Would be nice to get participation up. Connie always gives us one of the year's prime weekends -- first breath of Fall weather.

Can't lie, with the mandatory overtime and no vacation approvals at work...I haven't thought about Hallett since the last time I posted here. So sad.
Kinda looks like it's not in the cards for me this year...wife needs another car and also just started a new job so she won't be getting paid for about 2 months. 48 people isn't very many and I'd like to add to that number. I'll make some calls and check some stuff out to see what I can do, it was really fun and I'd like to do it again this year.
At a minimum, I'll need new front pads and rotors, brake fluid swap, tech inspection.
It sucks that I won't get my Bell helmet in time even though it was bought 3 months ago and my Necksgen won't be here by then either. Renting a helmet after I have already paid for a SA2015 helmet is pretty crappy.

Sounds like a plan!
How long does tire rack take to ship tires? Thinking of picking up a set of RS3s or maybe Rival S. My tires are a couple years old and the rears in particular probably won't handle a couple days at the track and still be usable on the street. They are down to just over 3/32.

I signed up for Friday and Saturday and got the hotel booked!
OG Racing told me that since my helmet won't arrive in time, they will reimburse me for my rental helmet. Awesome customer service!
On the other hand, im really starting to dislike 16" wheels. I don't think I can get the 15" wheels I want in time. Made some calls and it's not looking good unless I pay hundreds in shipping. Poor planning on my part...

It runs all day, like 8-4 I think.
Dustin, wheel/tire packages from TireRack are pretty sweet. They show up balanced and ready to bolt on! They have lightweight Enkeis, Advantis and Konigs. They don't have 6ULs though.
I'm planning to take my wet tires with me as well. 225 RS3V2s mounted on 15x9 Advanti Storm S1s. A bit long in the tooth (Spring 2015), but if you get in a pinch . . . . I "think" these will work on your car without fender rolling.

According to tire rack, the 15x9 Advanti Storms with 225/45/R15 tires will fit an NB without mods.
I'll find out for sure next Wednesday, I ordered a set in matte gray! Why matte gray? Because they were the only ones I could get in time!
I think it's going to look hilarious at stock ride height. I also think my bumpstops are going to hate life lol
