Carolinian's Meet
Time for another meet so due to the upcoming holidays and upcoming winter I'm shooting for the December 6th or 7th. We just need to decide to choose either Saturday or Sunday.
I'm pretty dead set on having a go kart meet at "Victory Lane." I will provide buy one, get one free race coupons to everyone. This alone saves you $24 dollars. Victory Lane Karting - Fast Karts... Good Times
Next order of business is to choose where to hang out/eat. For the sake of easy access and location I was thinking around the concord area.
Eatery:
-Hooters
-Steak and Lube (If we get enough people, I think* we can get reserved parking)
-Jack in Box
-Sushi 101 (University area)
-**I'm up for other suggestions**
Bring your friends!!
I'll be combining the results from here and cr.net

Whoops, haven't been checking this thread out but heres an update with the current info:
Meet will be held together with the local rx-8 enthusiasts as they also hold a month meet at the first Saturday. Food will most likely be taken care of by Buffalo Wild Wings. Found out yesterday Victory Lane is holding a endurance race at 9pm.
So the dilemna now is timing everything right. We could stick to the original plan or this new one where things are reversed and the meet would take place at VL instead of BWW's parking lot.
Original Plan:
4-6pm Meet/Greet/Check out cars
6-8pm Eatery at BWW's
8-?pm Victory Lane
or
New Plan:
5-8pm Meet/Greet/Race
8-?pm BWW

I am well and alive and trying to make it, still trying to talk some other friends into going.
Money is tight so I've laying low, not working for over 3 months and remodeling a house really sucks.
Rafa, car's still burning tons of oil, but I finaly had some time to compression test it and it passed with flying colors. Although, I did blow a coil pack :( but then I had to finish my COPs bracket and that is in now and working fine I love COPs.
First chance I get I will drop in some new valvestem seals and hopefully that will take care of the oil burning problem.
The other motor is still holding its breath on the rebuild.
Monday I should start working, so hopefully I'll get back on track with things.

COP are indeed the greatest!
I'm glad to hear your car is running good. Building the other engine can wait.
Also good to know you're about to start working.
I took my car to the dyno. lol.
Best,
Rafa
p.s. Dan, my car was also burning too much oil for my liking. Ever since I changed to Mobil 1 5W 50 no more issues and oil pressure went back to 25 at the gauge. Try some higher grade. (Or is it lower grade? lol)

Have to admit, I missed you guys haha
Consumption is down since I switched to 20w50 (no turbo on car, relax everyone), but it's still bad, now that it's colder I smoke up my entire driveway on start up, and it smells like raw oil...yummy!
Those seals are a cheap and easy fix, I have to give it a try, I can't afford to keep buying oil anymore. I need a qt. about every 200 miles or less...ouch!
Oil pressure has always been good though, it's a little higher now with the heavier oil, over 80psi on cold starts, which worries me a bit. I have to change those seals and go back to thinner oil.
Still no internet nor cable at the house, but I like it that way, I have enough distractions as is.
I've been at my parents house for the last 4 days, my grandpa from my mothers side passed away so I wanted to hang around here for a while, but gotta go back tomorrow.
I should be back on here soon though, I've accumulated all these ideas in my head for my car that I'm gonna need to reasearch and discuss with the gang.
Regards,
Danijel

Got the final word from Brad and the RX-8 Club so heres the schedule that will commence:
When: Saturday, December 6
Weather: 49* with clouds
Schedule:
4-6 Meet/Greet/Race at Victory Lane (377fast.com)
6-? Wings at Buffalo Wild Wings
Address's:
Victory Lane Karting
2330 Tipton Dr. Ste. 100
Charlotte, NC 28206
TIP: Once you turn onto Tipton road, go all the way down and you'll see signs on your right. Follow the signs and it should lead you all the way around the building.
Buffalo Wild Wings
440 E. McCullough Dr. Ste. 230
Charlotte, NC 28262
TIP: For BWW, this was the best map I could get. In this picture you go straight ahead and down a hill and you'll see us parked to your right. My best advice is to mapquest both address's and/or meet up at VL and follow someone here.
