Default Aug 15-16: Miata Challenge Round 8 at ACS Speedway (Auto-X and Trackday/Time Attack)

AAA Auto Club Speedway!!

The next Miata Challenge Time Attack event is this coming Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16. Again, like in Round 6, Saturday will be a 1/2 points auto-x special round and Sunday will be the main event on the track for full points.

Aug 15 Auto-X registration: Register
Aug 16 ACS ROVAL registration: Register

Speedventures - 949Racing - Slick Auto
The Speedventures schedule is for Sat & Sun. Come see the fastest track Miatas in Socal and get a ride in some fast Unlimited class car as the OGK and Savington's car.

Here's me driving the OGK during a Round 6 practice session:

You know, for all the smacktalk against CR.net, they actually track their cars, drift and autocross a lot more that MT.net guys. I see maybe one or two MT.net regulars at most. My guess is that the non turbo guys spend more time/money driving and less time wrenching.

Sure would like to see more of you guys out there driving.

Sonny, I don't think Savington will be giving ride alongs unless he gets a passenger seat.

Or a cage. Dumping the seat until I get one is much easier than telling everyone who asks for a ride that I don't feel comfortable with a ride-along with the lack of safety gear in my car.

Oooh. The smack talk's been layed down...

I'm guessing that's a SoCal phenomenon. Haven't met one CR guy at a track in the NW.

I've gotta get down to one of these, I'm just afraid my car will be in the same class as the OGK and Savington even though it's definitely NOT in the same class. Full weight daily driver w/ no aero. Times would be embarrassing in comparison.

I have driven my MSM (full-weight street car with no aero for first half of the series) and it was not that embarrassing in terms of times against Sav and Emilio back then. Hell, I still drive it and though I'm falling back with the Unlimited arms race going nuclear, I'm still enjoying trying me best to keep up. If anything, come battle me. It should be a good battle between the Unlimited street cars.

BTW, +1 on seeing CR.net guys on track and not enough MT.net guys. :P

I'll hopefully get a base in Cali for the Air Force. So this time next year I should be out there to play :-D

For you locals in CA whats a good city to request for, I know there's quite a few bases out there so, any recommendations?

btw Emilio is there anyone running LS1 swapped, 15x9's nt01s, bigass wing, exhaust? That'd be one fast car in modified class haha.

T-hill is 500 miles from me. Infineon 600. Just a days drive, both are do-able for me. I'll look at the Oct. 9th at Infineon and see if I can get down to it.

VAGA, That MSM runs in the Unlimited class?

it's real easy. go to miata challenge site click on ''rules''. it takes about 15sec. to add up points for your mods and figure out what class your in.

Thread drift...

Only way I could stay out of unlimited is forgoing my 8" 6uls and 40 wear r-comps. I have a set of spec miata wheels. What's a good tire with 40+ wear rating?

Yes, and sometimes I get lucky and get good points. The only advantage that I think I have over any other MC Unlimited guys so far is reliability and I still get decent points in the series. Hell, I stole a 1st place win from Savington at Thunderhill in Round 4 because of it. :P

BTW, Savington is now the current points leader in Unlimited, followed closely by me behind by 4 points. If Savington can keep his car together, he'll definitely win.

The challenge website needs results updated! Last results are from May.

Never realized all those toyo/nitto tires were 100 rated. I figured they were 40's like my Avons and Kumho's I currently have. Perfect!

I'll get on updating the site since I'm now authorized to do so. Gotta get acquainted with the software needed to update.
