Any Northern Illinois/Midwest people like to shoot?
This is just a feeler because its getting a bit too cold to be standing outside holding metal objects (even if they are self heated).
I am a member of a sportsmans club in Waterman Illinois that has everything from trap, skeet, and sporting clays to a 600 yard rifle range. As a member I can bring in three guests at a time(for the rifle/pistol range), and if I hire an Range safety officer to keep an eye on us I can have a larger group.
Basically anything that is legal in Illinois can be shot here. I am not kidding when I say we have had civil war cannons (yes, CANNONS) live firing on our 600 yard range. Right now its only paper targets but next year we should have some club owned steel.
Nearby is a GREAT pub for burgers afterwards. Unfortunately there aren't much around the club other than long straight farm roads, and the county patrols there.
I just want to get a feeler for how many people would like to go shooting sometime next March/April once it warms up. Let me know what you enjoy shooting. (ie: Shotgun, pistol, rifle, carbine?)
Cost would be somewhere around $15-30 a person depending on how many people, how long we plan on being there, and what we plan on doing. For example, if we only do shotgun (trap/skeet) we don't have to pay the $15 but would pay $6 per round per person. Its only if we do rifle/pistol that a "guest pass" and an RSO might need to be hired.
Let me know.
