I don't go and rent the best public parking spots in the most hard-to-find-parking areas full of retail/commercial, because the city refuses to actually make sure that people can readily access the area, for hundreds of dollars a month, just so .001% of the local population can park without effort.
I don't think a city should be auctioning off it's public parking spaces to the highest bidder; it either provides public parking or it doesn't.
In DC, the city gave away 86 public parking spots to Zipcar for over 5 years. Now it charges $300,000 a year for them; so roughly $3,500 a spot per year. That doesn't smell free market to me. ESPECIALLY when you consider that there are over 350 Zipcar parking spots in private lots in DC.

This is Cortney:
Hello, Cortney.
Cortney, as it turns out, is a bit of a ****. All I have to do is stroke her face gently with my hand, and she opens up to me completely.
After that, she is completely subservient to my will. And best yet, ours is a relationship without commitment. Once I've had my way with her, I just walk away free of guilt or obligation.

You know, it's funny that you ask this. When I got her, she had almost exactly 1/4 tank of gas. As though whoever she was with before me didn't even have the common decency to buy her a drink before he dumped her on the street.
So I filled her up. Or, more precisely, I pulled into a gas station that was along my route, handed the card out the window to a guy, and said "fill 'er up."
Because, you know, here in New Jersey it would be too dangerous to let untrained amateurs like us me pump our own gas.
