Yet Another Gun Thread

I had to send my cabelas alpha scope back for warranty work. Something inside the scope is stuck to the lens on the inside. I guess its ok, its only a $60 scope with a lifetime warranty.
I shot some 5 stand last weekend with dad's left 1100. It was fun, everyone was kind of freaking out because I was shooting winchester nitros (I got them for cheaper than free over black friday instead of $10 bucks a box) at just a for fun shoot and was only using like a 20" barrel (only barrel we had that took chokes). So it was loud as **** (for trap shooting), and when you nailed a clay, it blew up all over the place. The downside wasnt the shells ejecting right across my face, it was that I was in black face after shooting 2 rounds from the soot and powder coming out the ejection port.

Alright, I'm dumb, I need some help.
Do AR rifles and AR pistols need different BCG?
Finally took my 8" barreled AR pistol (with the BCG from my 16" AR rifle) to the range and had a fail to eject on the 3rd round. Bullet was wedged in the chamber, ended up tapping it out with a dowel after I got home.
Put another mag in, start manually cycling rounds through, and about 5 rounds later it does the same thing. This time I dislodged it by shaking the gun gently. Tried a different mag, same result.
What's the culprit? Feed ramp? Extractor?

BCG is the same. Does your barrel's chamber have cutouts like this?
I can't imagine it doesn't, but it should.
Are you using hand-loads? 223 brass is notorious for the necks bulging and getting stuck in the chamber.
That doesn't explain the bullet wedged in an 8" barrel though.
That sounds like an ammo problem to me.

Is there clearance for the extractor to enter completely?

+1.
Do they make pistol specific buffer and spring combos? With that short a gas tube and barrel combo I'd expect some fuckery that needs to be worked out.
I still want a 'Dissipator' style upper for my AR.
I have no idea why but that combination really does it for me. The problem is finding a barrel the correct length and with the correct FSB location and say, mid gas tube location. I love the idea of an extended sight radius carbine/16" but I want the FSB and gas system to actually work correctly.

A PSA lower that is supposed to be setup for an AR pistol. Just says it's a carbine buffer, do they make a lighter buffer?

The specific pistol buffers are only for pistol braces or pads or for states that think the carbine buffer rail construes intent to manufacture an SBR. The spring and buffer should be the same as a carbine. I just wasnt sure if you put like an H2 buffer in it for your carbine or something. Might want to check your gas port size and your gas block alignment. but I would try different ammo before that since its a slight pita.

Could always get the real deal. https://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-...ck-creek-blank And then you get the better 1:8 twist.
I tried to low-buck this so purchased a 16" BCM midgas upper with FSB when they went on sale a while back and attempted to build something like this:
I removed the FSB and installed a low profile gas block only to find out that the front of the barrel on the BCM tapers down from the gas block to the muzzle and I could not reattach the FSB in the rifle length location. I specifically called BCM before I ordered and told them what I was doing and asked if it would work, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. Of course, once it didn't work they said they would not take the upper back because I disassembled it so now I'm kinda stuck with it. It shoots great its just not exactly what I'm looking for. I'll post pics tomorrow.
The above image is a Spiks/AIM Dissipator and it has a custom barrel profile as far as I can tell. It's also $620 and always sold out.
I also still want to build an AR9. I have problems.

Had to get a shotgun, how can you beat $380 bucks for a semi auto with mags?
Except even after I worked it over with the dremel polishing wheel and even a small bit of stone work and put in the light recoil spring, el no extracto de roundo. Guess they didnt cut the extractor notch in the barrel deep enough. Nothing a little dremel grinding wheel action cant fix.

^^ Uh, yeah! Wish i could walk into a deal like that.
About to drop $2k on a new AR30... burn'in money like a fool. I'm sure 300wm will feel great on the rotator. Going to match it with a Titan-QD

Walk into a deal? Dude, they've been this price on classic firearms for months and they have a shitload of them. Brand new. I mean I did buy it knowing it would need gun smithing to work correctly before I even fired it, and it still needs a bit more work to get it to lock back on an empty mag.

To tell truth, i got my 870 and that's it for shotguns. Had looked at a saiga but too pricey for me. $380 for a semi AR design shotgun is something i could get behind though. What's the details on it

Basically it only looks like an AR, theres no parts swapability between the platforms. Its made in turkey so if you want to run the 10 round mags or 20 rounders or add a flash hider or throw an adapter on to use AR stocks you have to replace 4 items on the 922R list with american made ones. But thats not hard, a fire control group and new gas piston and you're good to go. Action wise, its a knock off benelli.
It really just needed a lot of cleanup work and like I said it needed the barrel worked a bit to extract reliably. The trigger is at least 10 pound pull and plastic, but its one of the parts you replace to make it 922R compliant, and besides being heavy as **** its not bad once I polished the important parts. If you go into it expecting to have to gunsmith it a bit and with the realization its a $380 semiauto shotgun you shouldnt be disapointed. The two rounds of 1200 fps 1 1/8 #7.5 I shot out of it didnt hardly kick at all. Felt better than the 1100 because of the but pad I think, even though this gun weighs less than my actual AR. Seriously, its like 7 pounds without a mag.
