Yet there are still a **** ton of them for sale on ebay....
Man if I had a second Sub2000 and was willing to part with it... I bet you it'd sell for 6 or 700 dollars..

Who wants my digital camo (awesomely painted, seriously... myself and others though it was a Dip job) AR15? That V8R partout is calling my name if he isn't interested in trades... i need to sell.
I tallied up all the parts on it... holy moly... I will obviously accept less.
Parts list:

Bottom one.
Right one.
Closest one.

Just knuckled and "bought" that 10pk at Brownells for $130 shipped. It was $125 with free shipping code and I threw in $5 to the NRA. I'm guessing late January for delivery. There was a discussion that Magpul's major retailers will be the first ones to get new shipments.
The cheapest I ever bought a PMAG at a gunshow was $16, and in store was $13 after tax... Botach has quarterly $12ea deals with flat-rate shipping... but $13 shipped is probably as good as it's gonna get for at least the next 4 years. Can't go wrong.

Can anyone give me a good idea on pricing for a Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle? I'm blocked from most firearms-related sites at my current location. Also, any really strong opinions or reasons to NOT get one?
I'm trying to find someone local to me that owns one to go test drive. I like that the Ranch Rifle version is capable of supporting .223 or 5.56 and higher capacity magazines but doesn't "look scary" (with its wooden stock, lack of a pistol grip and "Ranch Rifle" stamped on the receiver instead of "Mini-14").

The price you quoted from Buds is about what I would normally see them for on the used market even for ranch models.

On the ebay thing, if I had to guess... California state law prohibits "displaying or offering for sale" any "high capacity magazines." Ebay is located in CA, thus they would technically be displaying them for sale, thus breaking state law.
Sell them on a site based in a free state. Guntrader/Gunbroker springs to mind.

The 10pk of PMAGs is at Brownells.
As for the Mini-14, it was good enough for the A-Team, so it's good enough for me.
Actually, they're freaking awesome. Reliability using factory mags is better than AR's. Accuracy is fine for the ranges the rifle will be used at (I think 300yds would be a long shot with a Mini-14). They're a work gun, truck gun, ranch gun, barn gun, gator gun, boat gun, etc. I wouldn't buy one with any purpose in mind other than field work, with minimal maintenance, crap ammo, shitty scope, and shooting it a lot at **** I probably shouldn't.
I don't think I could justify owning one unless I had some "property" somewhere with the intention of keeping it in a vehicle that never left the property. I would never consider one for home defense, plinking, or as a collector piece.
On the other hand, they're the only budget substitute for an AR... and there is no such thing as "budget" in that category right now.

Okay, so the GF's brother in law is a full on retard, and now works at a gunshop. I'll spare the long-winded, funny stories about "the ATF doesn't file-ize the background check serial #s" and go to this bullet list of how much he knows about gun stuff and how stupid I am:
I should also note that my GF got him to agree that "In a severe earthquake an island could tip over and a volcano could spill-out all it's lava. He believed this feasible and that's why he won't buy in Hawaii...because volcano insurance doesn't cover lava-spills.
- Glock sucks
- You don't like the G26
- S&W sucks, your Shield has problems
- You should carry a Glock 19
- Springfield Armory > Glock and S&W
- The grip sticking out the back of your shirt is not "printing"
- You need to shoot XYZ brand 144gr ammo, 115gr will damage the gun
- 1911 is a good carry gun for you 115lb, 5'2" GF
- Guns should be cleaned every 200-rounds in a 3-day, 3-step process that you can't do at home and if you don't do this your gun will fail (strip it, clean with magical chemicals I can buy, let it sit for days...)
- My gun store is the premier gun store in the nation
