Had Miata since '07. I didn't know enough to be comfortable adding a turbo initially. Then as I learned more I figured out the turbo was the last part to add and not the first part. First comes brakes, suspension, clutch, cooling, etc., then comes turbo. Meanwhile, my personal economy goes to comparative crap versus what it was, and I am a cheapskate even when the money is good. So the car wasn't upgraded much for several years. Money is marginally better now. I did all of the supporting mods with mostly used parts, completed some track days, and have added the turbo. Having a turbo is good but I can't imagine having one without the supporting mods of suspension, brakes, clutch, etc. That would suck.

I'm part of the way there. It's my first time turbo'ing a car so I want to take my time and make sure I understand everything I'm doing. I've got everything I need except a partial Begi-S kit (need it for the CARB number, unfortunately), for which I'm saving up now.
I'm still conflicted, however, as to whether I want to remain with the bandaids I've acquired or go MS. I'm afraid if I go with the latter I just might be biting off more than I can chew whereas with bandaids I can just set and forget. Plus, it's not like I'm building a mean street machine or a track queen, just a peppy 150hp canyon carver and DD, according to my original goal. The idea of playing with MS before going turbo seems fun, but again I'd probably end up as one of those guys posting on the forum asking why my car is running like crap (if running at all) after I've installed it.
Anyhow, I hope to be boosted sometime mid-summer.

Distance my molester..staying in africa and whatever you guys (MT.net bros) pay for parts you can multiply it by four to get an idea what I end up paying for it here in darkest Africa...I am completely building my motor with relatively good parts mostly band aids but everything new from vendors such as FM and Wiseco...everything needed for built engine down to injectors setting me back $3000 US...with my dad going over to collect a truck he bought for himself and along comes my parts...If I bought it all here in SHITTY South Africa it would have set me back about $8-10k US....
So for now my answer is no but will report with buid thread in a couple of months..

-Remove entire exhaust
-Replace factory mani w/ turbo mani
-Install turbo
-Waste gate/BOV/whatever if the system doesn't already have it
-Install oil line feeds
-Install exhaust, preferably at least 3 inches in diameter.
-Heat shielding if not already done.
-Tune (Up boost and add timing until engine makes weird sounds, then take a little away) <-kidding
This assumes that the injectors, fuel pump, clutch, engine internals, and the rest of the drivetrain are able to take the extra power or provide fuel.

Been around for years, I have made no attempt to turbo charge my car. Been a subscriber for almost that entire time. I rarely post in any threads that have any value.
Im fixing the car up. The previous owner beat on it pretty bad. Funds, funds, funds. After I get stuff fixed up Ill invest in MS, and go from there. Probably a long while away.

this thread makes me feel so much better after seeing mostly boosted engine bays here - https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo-discussion-14/post-your-engine-bay-here-64166/

Have the Z28, and blazer for fun. I seriously want a miata though.
Been looking, yet to find one that I really liked though, plus the restoration and modification of the camaro keeps me pretty busy.
Once I get a miata, Im unsure whether I would turbo it or not, I worry Id just have another headache like the camaro and blazer, part of me wants something that fires everyday, and is dead nuts reliable.
