I am going to go buy a set of those today.
I use the t-bolt clamps with the little sleeve every day in my lab.
I break them at least once a week.
Anecdotes are generally meaningless in the context of material science.

I love these sleeved worm drive clamps:
Lined Clamps - Ideal Tridon
Even compression across a larger surface, high quality stainless, doesnt chew the hose, and a mfg-specified torque spec.
McMaster sells them 10 for $15 in 301SS

People who cheese grate your hoses with normal worm clamps, you've got them too tight, if you need them that tight to seal, you're failing at making a joint not failing at clamping it.

I've haven't used many T-Bolt clamps, but I have had the threads on one of them fail, which made the clamp effectively useless.
I've used a **** ton of worm drive clamps, and I've probably had two of them fail, which made the clamp completely useless.
Mods, please change thread title to: "Worm drive clamps and T-bolt clamps both fail".

My buddy from Japan says American auto parts store gear clamps are all garbage. There's supposedly a measurable difference in quality and thickness of materials in a Japanese gear clamp. If this is true, you are all correct.
