No but seriously, superchargers suck.

There is no such thing as constant power f.y.i.

The only thing constant about a supercharger is the horrible idle, high iat's and complete lack of power. Oh yeah, you can ditch the dinosaur fuel/timing systems they come with and start using a manly standalone, but then you will be over the cost of a decent turbo setup and stilll only have the power of cheap *** t25 setup.

Oh and about the whine? When you want to actually make power, you will modify your exhaust, then the car will be loud enough that you won't even hear the blower.

Ask me how I know this. I have video's too if someone wants to be a smart *** about it.

Agreed. I've only been in one supercharged Miata, and it was done, IMO, the right way.

FM 2.0
Ubercharger (1.2l Whipple)
real EMS (Link in this case, leftover from owner's previous turbo install)
FMIC

I didn't know enough about these things at the time, so I don't know what his TB setup is or anything fancy like that.

Anyway, he had just removed his 1.8/turbo setup in favor of the 2.0/SC setup. Yeah, from turbo to super. He was only concerned with the car being fast in SM2, very good driver. On the street, though, the car was intensely loud (no turbo to help with muffling), but all other aspects were good. You get what you pay for...

too easy. compound turbo ftw

2G dsm with a 16G and a t4 flanged 60-1. It puts down about 630whp- to almost 700whp, and makes 33psi at 3K.

While I greatly appreciate compound boost setups, I just wouldn't be able to deal with the clusterfuck of piping/lines/and all the other drama of it.

But yeah, I guess that's an alternative

LOLOL, I should rephrase my statement.

No such thing as constant, reasonably priced, non-cluster fucked power

Compounds are really cool. The Streetfighter is one of my favorite cars and it was making a ton of power with a compound setup.

EDIT: Man, my grammar is really off today :-(

I'm sorry, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. In person, i've seen two compound setups. Nothing professional, just DIY stiff like most of us do here.

The car that I was talking about is the streetfighter. Most of the good racing videos are on streetfire.net. Look up PhoenixEvo for his channel, tons of great videos with all sorts of cars.
Streetfighter VS. Hayabusa

It makes me drool, lol. It really is the definition of a fast street car, also mostly DIY, so big props to him

no not sarcastic at all. thats exactly what i was looking for. i've watched the youtube you linked but i would like to see one work in person. i've been a little skeptical that there exists a compressor wheel/housing that is small enough to be of use at low rpm (for the smaller of two turbos), but still flows enough air to not be a super huge restriction for the larger turbo's compressor (even though its at an effective pressure ratio of 1)

i'll check out the streetfire vids too.
