What is the fastest car youve driven that doesnt feel fast
odd post I know. But im curious. A while ago I got a chance to drive a CL65 AMG v12 Bi-turbo seden. which natuarlly when posed with that oppurtunity to drive had to flog it a bit.(not often I get a chance to drive a 600hp 723ft lb torque car, no less a car with that power stock). to say the least it was fast, but i didnt feel as fast as It should.....granted the speedo moves up as fast as most fast cars tachs move. not to say it wasent fast as ****. But it was such a smooth power delivary that it didnt feel as fast as it should....anyways I was thinking that as I was doing a WOT pull when I noticed I was hitting 120ish with no signs of a speed droop. scary!..that car would get alot of people in trouble fast!....haha talk about one fast sedan. anyways whats your storires?...just whondering...I dont mind vica versa stories either.

I've driven a few of my buddies STI's with well over 300 wheel..... They don't FEEL fast, especially without the reference point of pulling on another "fast" car. The miata no longer FEELS fast because I'm used to it.
on the other hand, when I get into a car at work like a mustang or corvette, the low end makes it feel faster than it is (since I'm in an enclosed space) though on the road it just kind of falls on it's face after the initial burst of torque.
I did get a chance to ride in a Gallardo Spyder the other day....well about a month ago..... and even though we didn't get a chance to really romp on it too much (car did not belong to the driver, was a customer car at another dealership) you could just TELL it was a monster

I guess i can complain about anything these days. not that I would get use to them fast if given the oppertunity

My cousin's Bentley GT. Took it out for a spin and hammered it, then after thinking it felt like i was probably going a little too fast, i looked at the speedo and it was a little over 120.
same as was mentioned above. smooooooth as butter power delivery, and smooth ride, etc... all make it feel like you're not putting your life in as much danger as you probably are. my statement to my girlfriend was "this is the kind of car that rich people die in..."

+1 in the miata (playing w/a BMW M Couple) going 135 (this is when I let off the gas, he slowed b4 I did - he was pissed..), felt surprisingly smooth. Same occured with a Jag XK8 running against the miata (walked him on the highway to the point he wasn't willing to go any faster).
Cars that didn't feel all that fast friend's Benz 600SL (very smooth - didn't realize how fast I was going).
IMHO the miata has been the most fun hands down going fast, curves etc.. but I love the 3rd gen RX7 twin turbo - friend had one (modified) and OMG I love that car (just georgous - too bad they're kinda tempermental).

Well, since most people I know (and on other local forums) think Mustang GTs are fast, I'll go with that one. Drove both a 98 and a 04, both pulled good till about, um, 30mph, then they seem to fall on their face. From 70 mph I have been beaten by a STOCK Eclipse RS in the 98, and I beat my brother driving the 04 in my 92 Celica that had only 134whp/140tq.
Given the "fact" that Stang GTs are fast, then I go with my wife's car, a Y2K Bug. It's chipped, and I yanked a GT by 5+ cars from a 50 punch. It's so quiet and smooth you don't even notice when you are going 150mph.
I did get to drive my old bosses 997 Carrera S, but it FELT FAST, so it doesn't qualify.

with power like this how can one not speed?.....but luck seems to follow rich people around for some reason.....anyways I bet a car that expensive ,when wrecked, transfers all deadly killing force immdediately into the other car, person, object, or aniamal you hit. which is a factory option by the way, leaving the financially blessed occupiants free to step outta the wreck and promptly get back on there blackberrys :gay:
