I've used eSnipe for years, works like a charm. Scored a Valentine1 today as a matter of fact.

There is actual software you can download that can do that for you, free if you know where to look.

I use esnipe. It is a pay site (if you guys didn't know). It did fail one time but that is because the seller automatically rejected my offer. I am still not sure how the auction was set up to but it had something to do with me not having a paypal account (I use my wife's due to paypal's inability to let two accounts share a credit card).
