Turn 40 today, going to have a drink.

I turned 40 in March, and I MUST have been drinking, because I got engaged a week ago.
All joking aside, I am as happy as I have been in as long as I can remember. I am down about 10 lbs (20 or more to go), my blood pressure is under control, and I got a substantial raise at the beginning of the year. Life is good.

Thank you! Getting older is not really too bad after all.
I remember you! Don't ever get out of the game completely.
Nice! I think you are going to love it. I got married a year ago, and we have a daughter now. Why the hell didn't I do this years ago?
Well, this is interesting... Three years later (well, 3 years minus 8 minutes) and I am doing the exact same thing I was before.
Yes, this is my first post here in 10 months. I sold my last Miata (the Lava MSM) and the Beer Cooler a few weeks ago. Still messing with arcade machines. I am staying around 35 total right now. Buying and selling as room permits...

In my case, I met my fiancé 20 years ago this year. I fell for her.
But she was married to another guy.
I didn't want to be the guy trying to break up a relationship so I became friends of the family, but mostly her. I knew I might do or say something stupid so I only called her on her birthday for 12 years (after I got out of the Marine Corps). We would talk on the phone for an hour or two, and then say goodbye until the next year. By the end of each phone call I was crushing on her again. Every year.
Three years ago she separated from her husband... Divorce was final a little over a year ago. I felt terribly guilty but I knew how I had always felt and I went for it. Getting older will do that... I don't have time to screw around. I want to experience this life for whatever time I have.

I turn 42 in July, and last week had my first "old man" injury... literally reaching down into the fridge to put the cheese back, I pulled a muscle in my lower back. WTF just happened? The wife is a nurse and blamed it on me using my back too much to do situps at crossfit the day before... huge abs day. I'm 6'4" and 240lbs... maybe time to loose the extra 30 I've been carrying around since 2000'ish.
