Time to roll, thinking of selling
Hi all, been quite some time since I was on the site. Unfortunately the miata (aka rolling FM catalog) is sitting pretty much constantly and not getting driven or worked on. I bought a large boat last year and it is consuming my time not to mention the 20K or so I've spent this spring on maintenance. Benefit for large boat? Instant panty drop and lord knows I could use the help but I digress... So I feel bad with the car just sitting there and not sure what to do. I'd sell it for sure but thinking I'll get raped unless I part it out. Not looking to get rich here, half or less is normal for sure. Thoughts? sucks....

Totally diggin the boat though. Cruising up to a festival in a few weeks and looking to explore the Chesapeake bay this summer. Fuel capacity is 520 gal red diesel with a maximum range of 750 miles. I've fixed most of the PO's lack of upkeep and have the maintenance where it needs to be now. Have some final wiring to tie the bridge displays to the flat panel in the salon and bedrooms along with a camera in the engine room so you can keep an eye on things. Really fun to cruise around and the ice maker in the cockpit makes ice faster than I can spin up Margaritas.

LOL I hear you. I should add that I'm knocking on 50 and fitting in the miata kinda sucks with the aluminum seats and door bars... I picked up a 7 series e38 a little while back so that's my fun car for now. It's big and heavy but damn it goes like stink and corners pretty darn well too!
Boat is a Silverton 42 convertible. Kind of a combo fishing boat and pleasure yacht. It has a nice open cockpit in the back for fishing or scuba diving and a nice big bridge up top. You give up some inside space with the cockpit (I have 2 bedrooms, one bath. A 42 aft cabin would have 3 br and two bathrooms) but I like the flexibility. Two Cummins 450C 8.3 liter straight six turbo diesels (big *** turbos) 450hp each, 1400 ft-lb's. Here are some stock pics. Mine looks exactly like this but I have a enclosure on the bridge for the cold months.

Isn't everything pretty much a hole that we pour money into? Reminds me of a girl I used to date! It's not about money, that's not the issue. It's about the car sitting and not getting used. Saved up for 7 years for the boat so I only financed half of it and that is a mortgage that is written off as a second home. Will move up to a 50-55 in a couple years and maybe retire on it.
