Tesla Model 3 spotted in Palo Alto
With manufacturer plates. It looks awesome IRL
I love my Model S, but it's too big and expensive, so I'll ditch it for the Model 3 as soon as they let me order mine. Should be around the end of the year.
Anyone else on the wait list?

There have been a bunch of these(Beta testers?) running around lower Fairfield County for over a year now, enough that they don't bring a second glance any more - I was very surprised to hear that the official production launch was just the other day. Maybe by sending them to the northeast they don't draw the press attention they would in CA. Don't know anybody who's driven one, they mostly seem to be piloted by hedge-funders' wives. Maybe they paid big $ to jump the waiting list.

Are you sure they are model 3s? I was surprised how similar it looked to the model S from the back and side. The front us very distinctive though. There is no way that a model 3 would be driven by anyone other than a Tesla engoneer before the end of this month. There have been surprisingly few photos even of the 3 in the wild.

Sorry - I was being stupider than usual. I never really paid attention to Tesla much, but apparently I've been seeing a model X(I followed one for a while last night).
The good news is that it isn't the one you're interested in - they are not an attractive car.
Tesla sounds interesting, but since I regularly have a 320-mile one-way trip, it wouldn't work well.
