Talk me out of this Hyundai

I thought about the same thing at length before I decided that I want a luxury car. Few things that I considered. If I need some fun I have the Miata. I spend most of my time in traffic so might as well as be comfortable. The roads in NY are FUBAR and only getting worse; I stopped driving the miata to my parents house for this reason, half the distance is highway under constant construction. My wife and I also want to do some road trips, so we definitely want the ride to be hella plush.
I also used to own a 1992 Marquis and loved it to death. So I have a special place in my heart for luxo barges. Don't want to even get into the possibility of needing space for kids.
Different strokes..., I can respect that.

I used to DD a miata, and it was very rare that I wished I had something bigger. Once I decided that my current miata wouldn't see snow, though, I had to get a winter car, and I decided I wanted the opposite of a miata without buying an SUV or truck, so I got my outback. I love that car. (Technically it's classified as an SUV, but I still consider it a station wagon). If I were going to have only one car, though, it would be a smaller hatchback like a C30 or A3.

I DD the miata most of the summer, I never feel I need bigger. I enjoy a small car, plus my parking garage is tight. I hate driving boats when I ever have to, seems really pointless.
I just can't find myself getting another coupe if my wife has one, for that one day we need to travel, or drive people around, or buy something large at the store.
If I want a slightly luxary car, I'd do a smaller G37 sedan or even like the Zeyhper or optima or something. I don't need baller status, or want to spend the money on it. I've thought of an s60r. That's a big sucker and makes 300hp/tq.
I've highly considered the 335i X-drive, but I still just want a smaller hatch. If the WRX wasn't so overpriced it would probably be #1 on my list, but it's currently the ST. I hope I still like it when I finally able to test one out.

I have no idea how and why some of you want to daily drive a small car. Get at least a mid-size; some place to stretch out and allow the possibility of fitting more than 2 people into it comfortably.
Myself personally, I can't stand my 3. Small, uncomfortable, noisy. The only reason I got it was because it was cheap. Next couple of months i'm getting myself into a full size.

I think I am going to test drive a C30, just to see. Is it like buying an Apple computer? It holds its resale, but you can buy 3 Toshiba's for the price of the one Apple?
One of the BIG things I'm looking at and why a Caliber isn't on the list is A pillar blind spots. Anyone who's ever driven one or something like it knows its like trying to look around a tree. Ridiculous x3.
