Voted Barr, liked his platform the best, just sad there's no chance for a man with a sweet **** stache like that. =/
Maybe someday we'll have more than two options - or at least options that inspire me to vote FOR someone instead of against the other guy. I'm done with that so I'm "throwing my vote away" in the manner John Quincy Adams suggested.

Jeez you yous are sensitive. Sarah Palin has taken more **** in the last two months from SNL and everyone else for that matter, let alone what Bush has gone through being "made fun of" for the last 8 years...yet one joke about Obama and I'm a racist...how is THAT not racism? We can make fun of the white guy but ot the black guy...hmm seems like he should be on an even playing field. How do you know I wasn't merely saaying he had big ears (which he does) by calling him a monkey? Everyone always has to jump to the race card...well guess what: **** THE RACE CARD, it's gone. I've got almost as many black friends as I do white friends, I have no problem with black people at all, I am far from a racist, **** I've even dated a couple black chicks... I'm done with that argument though, it was a ******* joke, get over it...
Y8S: As for the gun thing...I am VERY pro gun rights...and your little comment about "assault weapons" made me chuckle, do you even know what an "assault weapon" is? My dad and I build guns (Cemte's, FAL's, Ak's, AR's,
etc..) all legally of course, semi-auto, etc..
Do you know the legal definition of an assault rifle?
Now you tell me how any of those things make a gun more dangerous....
Machine guns...you can still own with the proper paper work, we have several (they're fun as **** to bust out on the fourth of July instead of fireworks) but none can be made after 1986...Do you realize that there has not been a crime committed with a legal fully automatic weapon since 1924?
I hope you feel safe keeping law abiding citizens away from flash supressors and folding stocks since they are so dangerous...

- If a gun has a flash hider, it's an assault rifle, if it doesn't it's not...
- if a rifle has a 17" barrel, it's an assault rifle, if it has an 18" barrel, it's not
- if a rifle can hold too many rounds it's an assault rifle
- folding stock = assault rifle
- pistol grip = assault rifle
- bayonet mount = assault rifle
- a pistol that weighs more than 50 oz. is an assault rifle,
- shoutgun with aa folding stock = assault rifle
Now you tell me how any of those things make a gun more dangerous....

DC was the best example of how gun laws work. You can't argue for gun control laws, when an entire of 61 square miles and 500K+ citizens is ranks like this:
Code:
State Pop. Homicide Crime Rate District of Columbia 553,523 35.8 California 35,893,799 6.7 Louisiana 4,515,770 12.7

Ever heard of Switzerland? They have the highest gun ownership rates in the world (near 100%) and the lowest gun related crimes rate, and as much as I hate to defend anything about the man, Germany under Hitler was the same way; almost 100% of citizens were gun owners and there was almost no gun related crime.

REALITY: OBAMA HAS CONSISTENTLY SUPPORTED COMMON SENSE GUN CONTROL, AS WELL AS THE RIGHTS OF LAW-ABIDING GUN OWNERS
Obama Supported A Package Of Legislation That Would Limit Handgun Sales To One A Month. ''The package closes the Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card loopholes which resulted in the shooting out in Melrose Park. We're eliminating 17 specific assault weapons. There is no reason why anybody should need an assault weapon to protect themselves or their family,' Obama said. 'We're limiting handgun sales to one a month. 'We're calling for handgun registration. It's very hard right now to track whether or not a felon has turned in his weapons or if he has a FOID card because we don't know how many weapons he has purchased.'" [Chicago Defender, 2/20/01]
Obama Voted To Prohibit Multiple Sales Of Handguns Within A 30-Day Period. In 2003, Obama voted to create the offense of unlawful acquisition of handguns, prohibiting the multiple sales of handguns within a 30-day period. In 2000, Obama was co-sponsor of bill prohibiting the transfer of more than one handgun within a 30-day period. The bill exempted federally licensed firearm dealers who purchase handguns in the regular course of business, military, law enforcement officials and certain hunters. [93rd GA, HB 2579, 5/16/03, 3R L; 23-36-0; 91st GA; SB 1614; 2000]
Obama Disagreed With The NRA That "People Should Be Unimpeded And Unregulated On Gun Ownership;" In Favor Of Handgun Registration And Licensing Requirements. Obama said, "I know that the NRA believes people should be unimpeded and unregulated on gun ownership. I disagree. I do not object to the lawful use and ownership of firearms, but I do think it is entirely it appropriate for the state to monitor it. Too many of these guns end up in the hands of criminals even though they were originally purchased by people who did not have a felony. I'll continue to be in favor of handgun law registration requirements and licensing requirements for training." [Chicago Defender, 7/5/01]
Obama: America Has A "Tradition Of Gun Ownership In This Country That Can Be Respected." The Weekly Standard reported, "When a student asks Obama for his views on the Second Amendment, he reminds his audience that he taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago and is thus familiar with the arguments regarding the right to bear arms. He acknowledges 'a tradition of gun ownership in this country that can be respected,' and says that his academic studies convinced him gun ownership 'is an individual right and not just the right of a militia.' But he was not finished. 'Like all rights, though, they are constrained by the needs and the rights of the community.' Obama then spoke of 34 students who were killed on the streets of Chicago and called for sensible gun control to prevent senseless death. He speaks of the importance of parental involvement in education before listing the many ways in which he would expand the role of the federal government in the schools." [Weekly Standard, 12/17/07]
I support responsible gun ownership. I wont take your guns away. The power is in the hands of the people, remember?

I hunt, I just got two bucks this past weekend on my 138 acres in Albemarle county in Virginia....I have been shooting since I was ~3years old as has just about everyone in my family. We're responsible with the guns we have, follow the laws no matter how stupid they are, yet OUR rights are constantly put in jeopardy by people like Obama who have no idea what they are talking about....flash suppressor so scary on a gun with a folding stock!!!
