Just bought a sideswiped 99 off of Craigslist with 95K for $650.
Has been partially parted out but still has engine/trans. Seats, nardi wheel, stereo, and supposedly pumpkin is missing also, but for the price of a head alone, I can't be too bad off. I'll have parts for sale, but keeping the engine/trans at least for now. I'll know more when I pick it up.

Must be the same car-it's in your neck of the woods and his name is Steve. Good deal on the Torsen. I was going to just buy the engine/trans for $500, which was what the ad was for, but figured, WTH, I have room for another hulk out back and the other two are lonely. Plus, now that I have a 99, it will be nice for bits and pieces. Sounds like the body is pretty rough, but mirrors, window regulators, interior stuff...I should come out OK parting it and this way I can take my time pulling the wiring harness, etc.

Outstanding. Cruises rule. They have really good food, plus a 24 hour buffet when you need a little something at 3:00 am. It didn't get dark until midnight after we hit Alaska. That was kind of wierd getting used to. Ate too much, booze is high. They don't use cash, just a mag swipe card. That way you don't really SEE all that money going out. Had a $450 drink tab for the week that I think my wife drank $40 of.![Giggle](https://www.miataturbo.net/images/smilies/gay.gif)
Had great weather for Alaska. Zero rain until the last day which is very unusual, temps in the 70's in the south, 60's most of the time and a day in the 50's once we got to Whittier/Anchorage. Made a little at the casino. The whales were pretty cool. Got some good pics of them jumping completely out of the water.

Yeah, the other three other than the 99 are parts cars. I'm a sucker for a sub-$1000 Miata. Actually, this is the most expensive I have bought at $650.
I kind of wish I hadn't parted the 96 now. It was pristine in/out but had a blown head gasket and an auto. Would have been a primo swap for this 99 motor/trans boosted.
Now that I actually have a spare 99 motor, I may look for another 90-93 NA to swap it into.
