Dastardly, and deserving of cruel and unusual punishment, but clever.
I often think about the scene in Star Wars where Tarkin, realizing that he's been deceived by Leia as to the location of the rebel base, shouts:
Of course, nobody does, and he later observes that "she may yet be of some usefulness to us."
I can't help but think that if I had been an Imperial officer anywhere within earshot of Tarkin when he made that initial order, I would have run as fast as possible to the detention area, opened Leia's cell, and shot her in the head several times. Tarkin didn't strike me as the sort of person who suffered disobedience lightly.
