Jesus f*cking christ, the Staff NCO's at my recruiting station have all been in for ~10 years (some more) and are now Staff Sergeants. Good Marines too. If your 21 you must still have under 4 years of service, how'd you get to that rank so quick? What rank did you join as?

This here is the truth mang. I joined as a 6 year, so when i graduated basic my -date of rank- started then. After that it was 20 weeks or finish tech school and you get that rank from date of rank. (E3) After that for me it was just a waiting game. 2 years and 4 months. Then i got E4. If you get it with 6 months or more until the testing cycle, you're eligible to test, which I did, and then it's back to the waiting game. You get a line number and that's what number you are to put on that next stripe. I'm still waiting. I will be until somewhere around May-June, possibly into July.

Silly, the Annual awards for 2011 are already out. This will be for the year of 2012. I just have to keep on volunteering and busting my ***.

Was your intention of starting this thread to talk about how ------- awesome you are or are you just that full of yourself that it naturally took that path?

That makes me feel a LOT better, that's like being a Corporal in the Marines. (Pvt, PFC, Lance Corp, Corp, SGT, SSGT, Gunnery SGT and so forth.)

Edit: do you mean E-5 or E-4?

Honestly I've read a ---- load on this forum with your posts in it. You are ------- ruthless and I don't know what I did to get you to start talking ---- to me but this is the only time I will acknowledge it. I really don't want to start any more bullshit than what has already been posted I just want to be a part of this forum and get to know everybody. I just wanted people to know who I am and what I'm about. That's all, nothing else.

Nah it's E-5. Airman Basic is E-1 (no stripes)

Don't even get me started on Security Forces bullshit. Yeah you guys work your *** off, hated on until your needed, and put up with some dumbshit, but have you ever worked FLIGHTLINE? I have it easy on this DEPLOYMENT because I got shoved into a desk job at MOC because they had a slot to fill and I had time in grade. Now that I have my line number I'll be going back to 14 hour days, making the ------- MISSION happen. You know, sortie generation to protect the idiots that went in as bullet sponges? Don't hate on my job because YOU picked a shitty career field.

Damn straight. I wouldn't trade my job for SF even if they offered a huge *** bonus. No disrespect to him, thanks for the service. Somebody has to do the job and it's great he stepped up. I'm just saying don't call my job ------- easy until you spend 2 years changing JFS, CGB, Pawl carriers, and living the shitty life of box nasties.

I literally work less ours during the week while deployed now, than I did at Kadena on the flightline as an A1C SrA.

I'm going to shoot things in hot places where people speak gibberish, but first I'll get screamed at for 3 months for no apparent reason. After I get done getting screamed at I'll come back to this thread and cast judgment down upon you all.

Have you decided what branch? 3 months sounds a lot like Marines.
