The saga continues..
While washing the corvette I noticed a bit of a tire plug in the high sidewall of a tire, then another.
And another, and another and another.
Somebody had punctured each tire no less than three times.
This to me means one of three possible things:
- Ugly divorce.
- Some other customer of the dealer I traded with had a little problem with a purchase (like, say, the wheel falling off) and returned for a late night puncture party.
- Random hater.
Soooo, new tires for the Vette.

I kept all of the same size tires as before, but stepped up the rears from a 55 to a 60 so the sidewalls would match the front. (Fronts were .6" taller sidewall before and my eye picked it up every time.
I still need to get the front down about an inch to deal with that huge gap, but the rear looks great now.

I hate the '70s/'80s and that thing reeks of it. Not in an ironic way or a charming way - e.g. "Joe Perez as a skinny Puerto Rican Magnum P.I." - but in a way that one looks back on the fashion mistakes of their youth with chagrin.
I hope whoever put that thing together has a lot of chagrin.

Lol, no, really, tell me how you really feel.. ;^)
I kinda like the car; the 70's were the heart of my car obsessed childhood, and so for me it's not so much ironic as simply familiar and classic. Its what a custom stingray vette should look like.

Luckily, you own it and not me. That's the beauty of diversity of opinion.
Yes.

Ok Ladies, a few updates on the latest revisions to The Pinky Collection.
I got some rims and tires for the Cobra that were dead wrong for the Cobra. Why didnt you bastards stop me?? I posted a pic of them and all!
Anyway, happily they fit the new Corvette, and have really updated its look. The new wheels, combined with new VBP coil springs in the front, have made the car far less Corvette Summer.
The Vette has also gotten a new Lincoln Mark VIII fan (holy crap, what a fan; it would probably pull a Miata forward when it kicks in..) and an upgrade of the old "SI" 78 amp alternator to a modern 140 amp "CSS" type alternator. (The fan draws a huge amount of current).
So.. Better?

Which looks like this...
Front coilover springs should be here today. The ones on the car were aftermarket E36 coils and about 350 pounds too heavy on each side. Made for a nice Gasser look..

I replaced the shitty BuzzBox fuel pump from VatoZone with a nice rotary pump and regulator and plumbed the fuel system with braided to hard line. I put it all in a little space behind the gas tank. Much cleaner looking now.
