Nah. You should keep it and get a dSLR as well.

I actually wouldn't mind having a tiny camera. Much more convenient and doesn't attract as much attention. It would be great for impromptu snapshots and such.
As it is, the camera and lens I was using on Saturday weigh in at 6 pounds or so. Not for the faint of heart.

what type is it? I've used a digital Canon Rebel 10MP without your results. I'm used to SLRs, had a Nikon A90 before I went digital.
Yeah, tiny cameras are great for point and shoot and lugging them around.

It's a 20D. I could get the same results with the Rebel XTi/400D that you've used before, or any other DSLR for that matter. It just takes anunderstanding of photography, and lots of practice. In fact, I'm not 100% happy with many of the pictures I posted in this thread. However, it was also the first time I've ever tried to shoot motorsports. I'm sure I'll do better next time.

BTW, I've played around with that new Rebel at a local store. Doesn't the shutter sound bizarre on that thing? Almost sounds like a laser gun sound effect.

nice pics dv/dt. Are you shooting full manual? The pics with the car coming or going are hardest to shoot when using a slower shutter speed to get some motion in the wheels. You've got some in there. A good lens helps. What are you using? Did you add the vignetting? btw- that looks like a fun track, have you driven it? - rob
