Opinion on buying this Mustang
I step in **** sometimes. I find a lot of really good deals sometimes, and I either profit, or have the ability to trade up. Sometimes things seem too good to be true, but most of the time, I end up breaking even, or making out pretty decent.
I know this guy who wants to sell me this car. I've known him for years, known this car for years...he says "I'll sell it to ya" he just wants it gone...too much going on in his life.
We chatted, price as it stands...$1,500.
Details: 2002 Mustang GT, 4.6 V8, 5 speed. Black with gray interior...Mach 460 stereo, but it has a pioneer touch screen in it...sub box and amp in the trunk (who cares)....Cold air intake, Flow master cat back.
150,000 miles. It's kinda beat...the drivers seat is ripped...the rear bumper had a tap, so the paint spider'd. Looks like lots of stone chips....
Needs inspection cause it supposedly needs rear calipers and the rear bumper support has some rust on it. Sounds to me like his inspection guy is a dick and likes to hose people...I'm pretty sure I could transfer the title and get it inspected on my way home no questions asked.
Do I want this car? Not really. However, I just want a fun work beater...maybe I'll run it all summer long, and come fall, I'll get bored with it and I'll wanna unload it? Who knows...
What says you guys? Is this is screamin deal? Or am I asking for trouble?

Good advice. I don’t want to have issues with it. I just want to clean it up, maybe fix a few little things with it…then cruise it all summer, then maybe see what happens.

I bought one as a beater to share drift car duty with the miata. Do it, you won't regret it.
Parts are everywhere and cheap. The 4.6 in the car is the same one you see in all the 300k mile beat to **** taxi's that were former police cars; basically bullet proof. They are slow as **** but IMO they sound incredible. I did the chains and guides in mine whilst installing a set of ported heads and cams and it really wasn't bad at all. I wouldn't be afeerd.
