As soon as you realize that there's no perfect car, you'll stick with one that suits your current needs.
I have owned the Miata since 2004, I've bought a turbo Fiat for the wife/kid and frankly I haven't felt the need to replace the Miata with something else, as it works for me.

Some people get bored. Heck, I got bored with all of my miata's only a couple months to a year after I was done with each and they were "perfect". But that doesn't mean I didn't really enjoy and love each one, cause I did.
And I'll buy another one. And enjoy it and modding it. And rinse and repeat. Same for my numerous subaru's and multiple corvette's
the only car I owned that I wouldn't buy again is the 350z.

^Exactly!
I ditched my 350Z after less than 3 months. I always wonder if the 370Z was a worthwhile step up but never went and drove one. They really need to do a 400Z with a 4.0L V8 with 400+hp and still a 2 seater coupe.
My pants get tight thinking about a car that size with that growl and quickness, without being driven by gold chain wearing, hairy chested immigrants.
The BRZ is the only one I haven't become bored with, although I'm wondering about it's durability even if I do all the preventative fixes to be able to use it at the track 8-10 times a year + a few autoXs. It's the only ride and I'm not in a position to be without a car for a month whilst I get another engine and swap it.

It was okay'ish at everything, not good at any single thing.
It was actually less practical than both my miata and my corvette. (that's saying a LOT)
There was nothing that was particularly terrible, except the consistent mediocrity with everything it did.
gas mileage? terrible
torque? mediocre
power? mediocre
sound? I guess it did sound pretty good
tossability? LOL
handling? meh
it felt huge and heavy, and really tiresome to drive (stiff clutch, shifter, heavy steering)
I got bored of it in 1 week

To be fair, the VQ does have decent torque, but even all the AL suspension parts couldn't make up for the fat GT structure. 28mpg on the hwy at 70 isn't terrible from a 300hp GT. (The BRZ only does 2 better at 600+ less lbs.)
I will agree with you on "tossability/handling" but what do we consider "handling" as far as outright grip, it was still pretty impressive, you just had to muscle it there (tossability).

Just wanted to say I took a trip to Madison, Wisconsin and averaged 31mpg with occasional stop and go traffic cruising at ~75mph

Two of my friends have BRZs. Both get over 35 mpg on highway trips. But then again, they're on stock wheels (one with stock tires, one with pilot super sports). You're only getting 30?
