I'm not sure I'd zero out Porsche owners. Stereotypes are just a bitch. I'd imagine that the Z3/4 owners get ragged on by the M crowd for the same reason. Ditto the SLK owners by the CL-enthusiasts. And Miata owners by, well... everyone. (etc.)

No, it's just a clever joke. The OP was trolling the thread, and the Boxster was the punchline. Kind of like when I started the "I'm going to build a hybrid" thread, and after a few days of letting everyone speculate, I revealed that I was building an electric bicycle.

In other words, it's irrelevant as to whether or not he even has a son, and if so, whether the son is actually buying a Boxster. It's funny because it relied upon a combination of misdirection and a common stereotype.

 

I have wondered this myself. Just never asked.
