My BEGI experience

If this gets locked it will be a sad day for MT.net...

The two transactions I had with BEGI, there were missing parts. MY DP and manifold were shipped with out any hardware. Took a long time to get the hardware for the DP, never did get it for the manifold. Order an FPR rebuild kit that was missing all the shims.
I also had issues with fit on my manifold, DP and heatshield.
Aside from fit, I can't complain about the quality of the items I received.

I hope they see this but I wouldn't chime in if I were BEGI. It's not defensible. They are cool people. They are creative. They try hard. They are also disorganized. They have good and worthwhile products but struggle to get them out complete and timely. It's a shame. I like and use them still. Have I had problems? Yes. Are they unforgivable? No.
FM has the customer service side of the business down. BEGI still has to learn that.

I'd heard that FM did this, but I was still a little surprised when they called me a few days ago to make sure I was pleased with the Bosch headlights I'd purchased with the group buy and to make sure I didn't need any help with the install process. I confidently said I didn't need any help, then I installed the damned things without the rubber boots.

Well its a moot point. She was on here yesterday. I'll give her a couple days to respond and then post it on m.net...

I actually like to see these things come to light, and not in a rubbernecking car crash sense.
We can only fix our problems if we're aware of their nature and their extent. To them, they may see it as random flubs, but I'd hate for it to get to the point that it hurts their business without them being fully aware of how the customers feel about it.
BEGi's contribution is great. Not only do they make great products, and provide healthy competition with FM, but Corky also regularly chimes in on technical issues on the other board. Seriously take a look at how far turbo Miatas have come in the past decade. When this car was mine the first time around I really didn't see the presence of the turbo kit guys like I do now.
If I chime in, it's for their betterment. I like Corky, and Stephanie was always polite when I finally got a hold of her. It hurts a little every time I see one of these threads because I'd like to see that little shop in the Hill Country succeed.
People will only put up with so much though, regardless of how great the product is. It's like a girl that's great in the sack but a real bitch otherwise...you live with it as long as you can stand, and then you go somewhere else. Also, everyone else, especially the small shops on our own board, are developing new products and ideas as fast if not faster than they are now.
