Steve my coworker is fostering this beautiful female kitten. About a month old right now. I might be able to bring her down to you in towards the end of October when I am down that way next.

Ok, I'm really missing Bailey. He was always around, requesting attention and involving himself in the daily routines. He knew the schedules and the cues and would place himself right ahead of us. So he was ready to be loved or fed or to be with us before the bedroom door closed when we got ready for work every morning. He never wanted to be excluded.
I'm not saying that I'm needy, but a man just needs a cat to love on.
So yesterday morning they found a ~2 month old kitty in the church. Nobody knows how it got in. It was really frightened. It really needed a home. And somebody else got it. But I told my family that it wasn't just me being needy, but dang it there were kitties out there who needed homes and we had a duty to provide a home to another kitty. And I'm not being needy but we've just got a responsibility to fulfill here.
So we went to the County shelter after lunch and we happened to locate a kitty that needed saving. Not because I'm needy, mind you, but because it was the right thing to do. I'm not needy, in case you are wondering.
I really miss my kitty. Dang it, I miss him. He was only about 8 years old.
So here's a potato selfie in low light of the new little girl on the back of the sofa with her paws on my shoulder last night.

Her hair is very fine and wispy and she is very thin and bony beneath it. She is small with very tiny feet and may have been undernourished her whole life. The pictures don't show it but she has a very long neck and long, slender legs. The noises we've heard from her have all been very shy and demure, like she's afraid to speak up. But she wants to be near us now. And she is starting to actively request attention by coming to us and rubbing against us.
