Last weekend was an absolute failure
Today was epic. It was cloudy and 70 when we started, 5 minutes in it started raining, 10 minutes later it became an all out downpour which lasted about a half hour. We were drenched and had puddles in our boots.
Unfortunately, my helmet cam wasn't cooperating today.

2 pics from the above ride that I processed.
4 weeks ago at a place called Wildcat.
Today at Wildcat!
4ft ish 80 degree step up out of a sand wash. Only 1 of the 5 of us cleaned it. The rest just kinda chucked our bike at it and got it on the ledge before crashing.

Wildcat
I am so addicted to this place lately. It was a well established riding area prior to 2014, lots of single track, and it was well ridden and getting worn out. 10/14, some government agency incorporated the south western 1/3 of this riding area into a preserve that is only for horses and hikers, and those non motorized abominations called mountain bikes. That 1/3 was where 80% of the single track was. So new single track is being formed and its awesome!
last weekend. it was in the 50s all day and overcast, perfect.
Just a hundred feet or so up the trail was an obstacle I wasnt going to try, and we had to bail off this trail into a wash. It was a loose 60 degree or so climb, that led up to a 80 degree wall of sanstone about 7ft tall.
I named this trail vertigo.
Today
We found what we call a cement wash trail. It lead to something that would have been difficult to go back up if the trail dead ended so we have to turn around.
turning around meant we had to go back up this POS

It most certainly is a 7 paddle in volcanic ash(technically cinders). Ever been to the cinders near flagstaff? That **** is by far the worst roost to get hit with. Its literally 1/4 minus pumice, it stings. It will also stack much steeper than sand before avalanche, so the hills can be fuking steep.
might be reposts, but...
The bowls are fun. But if you take a low power bike in one, youll get stuck. Didnt risk it with my DRZ400

Its one of the best areas in AZ to ride. Just on the other side of the highway there is an epic 100 miles ST loop, pictured earlier in this thread. Makes for a great camping spot.
chunk of said loop
The locals maintain a gas stash. If youre plated theres a gas station that we hit in the middle of the ride a few miles off of the loop. That ride literally takes all day for a group of B riders. C riders need not apply.
