Default I think my **** almost got jacked..

Basically I took a friends R32 (borla exhaust, intake...etc.)to pick up some slutz. (only had the miata)

I roll up to a light next to a lowered miata on steelies I try to get him to roll down the window to show some eunos love no homo. He wouldnt, he then tried to race me from the light. Being the epic ricer he was he took off (wasnt much of a take off considering it was stock but he managed to chirp the tires) right in front of a cop the R being as loud as it was also caught the officers attention.(I saw the cop up ahead and wasnt going to be a dumbass and try and race him) Trying to keep at as quiet as possible but it sounds like a ******* race car. The cop whipped a U turn in the parking lot I hopped on the highway and was out. We than passed another cop later that night(same jurisdiction) who also whipped a U turn as soon as possible... once again I peaced I didnt want to deal with theyre ****.

Going to pick up some the slutz who we were going to get shitty with but then they bailed

At this point I figure ill go get some gas.
The gas station which is more or the less on the real outskirts of the city right next to more of suburban neighborhoods. As Im walking out I noticed there is a camaro pulling in. Keep walking only to realize once i get in the R that they're parked like so.

Blue(R32) Green(camaro full of three rough looking black dudes)

It's only about 930 saturday evening, Lights beaming into the windshield I back out only thinking wtf . I figured maybe they wanted to race; stepped on it in second, they didnt even try to keep up but continued to follow us. We finally got out of a well populated area more or the less into the woods somewhat.

There was Mini van in front of us with them behind us at a redlight. Watching them in my rear view mirror. I see a door open and a dude get out of the car and starts to head towards the R. Immediately I launched around the van in front of us, ran the redlight(other light was yellow it was terrifying praying to god no one was going to hit me). Needless to say I bounced, passing just about everything in the way...

Do you guys think I did the right thing? I mean i have been jumped in the city (held gun/knifepoint) in the city before.. But that was downtown. It felt like movie material and was pretty intense.

That sucks dude. Sounds to me like they were looking for a problem either way, wanting the car or not. Or is it possible that they were just after the slutz lol

I know the feelings you must have been feeling dude. My buddy ran his mouth off one night at Boston Billiards to some guy right before they closed. As we were out in the parking lot the guy and his friends surrounded my car (10+ dudes) and started talking ****. I didn't know what had happened inside, so I was oblivious. Seeing it was a saturday night everyone that came outside had to crowd around and try to make the situation worse. I debated with myself for a moment and decided we better get back in the car and GTFO.

I am down to get in a fist fight if necessary, but not against a crowd of thugs. I don't need to get sucker punched in the back of the head and have some mindless **** stomp my head in. **** that. The days of 1 on 1 are long gone. Everyone is a tough guy when they have their buddies nearby.

Yeah personally I think the best thing is not to stick around for trouble, who knows if someone could be packing heat or not.

Happens like that all the time. Always leave yourself maneuvering room between you and the car in front of you at a stoplight. And try not to place your car in a position where you cannot escape with your car to either the left or right. But then again, I'm the cautious type. OK, mildly paranoid, but there is no good reason not to prepare for negative eventualities when it costs nothing. Awareness might have saved your life...

...or he could have been coming up to tell you your brake light was burned out...

Car-jackings are serious, and scary. I think you did the right thing by not sticking around. Always leave enough space in front of you to steer out of the lane. Only idiots get on the bumper of the car in front of them at stoplights. That space could also keep you from hitting them if you get rear ended.

My wife and I used to both work night shift in a warehouse when I was going to community college. That part of North Houston was kinda shady anyhow, and there had recently been a rash of car-jackings. Then a really ugly one happened. ******* jumped in a girl's car, kidnapped her, then raped and murdered her, only to dump her body in an empty lot.

My wife was 3 months pregnant at the time. I got my concealed carry permit the next weekend.

Whew! It's a good thing that you saw that there were black people in that car!

I think you did the right thing.

I was involved in a chase one night in Augusta while I was driving the Neon (turbo). Some jackass in an Impala SS thought I'd cut him off so he flipped on his high beams and started after me. I turned into my complex to see if he'd follow, he did. I didn't stop anywhere near my apartment, of course, but since I knew the layout I easily outran him, made it back to the main road, hid and watched him drive by. Good thing the OTM has a bit of power. Looks like the R32's power and grip helped in your situation.

Even my buddy who is black is more cautious around certain stereotypical blacks, so cut the crap.

I'm actually very cautious around Chileans. I don't trust their "Sea Bass."

The same thing could be reversed if you were a black guy and a bunch of rednecks wanted to steal your car. A thug is the same as a redneck. Both are packing and stupider than ****. I would run from either.

The only reason why I refer to it this way is there are very few black people that live outside the city around here. Most people (NOT ALL) from the city around here are trying to cause trouble. I'm not trying to be racist its just the way it is here.

Edit: and if you dont believe me...
"The racial makeup of the borough was 97.23% White, 0.44% African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.87% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.50% from other races, and 0.83% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.52% of the population."

That thing can launch pretty quick, it made me have some reassurance. If I would have been in the miata w/ my stock 1.8 really really nervous. They were windy roads that I travel almost daily that helped a little.

Now that you mention it, my buddy did get a little quiet at the bluegrass festival when they played "Dixie."

I am actually somewhat amused at how nervous he gets around rednecks. He can't readily tell the good ones from the bad ones like I can.

Some of them act nice and are genuinely nice, others act nice in a "I'll rape your *** when no one is around" kind of way. Squeal like a pig boy!!

It goes both ways though. Black people can't tell the good rednecks (or white people in general) from the bad, and most white people can't tell the good black people from the bad. Just because they look thuggish doesn't mean they act that way or back up the look with any kind of action. Same for rednecks. Just because most have poor fashion and dress tight jeans, plaid shirt and boots doesn't mean he is ready to start a lynch mob and carries a gun. lol

I guess I need to start carrying again. I've been too lazy to bother with it lately, but what is the point if you don't always have it on you. The one time I would need it would be one of the times I didn't have it on me.
