3rd gear synchro is dieing. I can't complalin though...the car had 149k miles on it, and I've done 18 track days this year. That's 30+ hours of track time on a 17 year old car.

while i wouldn't bother w/ $12/qt fluid for the miata, is the S-FM a known no-no for the miata tranny? mobil1 is a lot cheaper but i never liked the feel in the miata's box.

I don't get it? all the s2000 (and other honduh-kiddies) uses synchromesh FM. i just tossed in 1.5 qts 2 wks ago and my 1-2 notchiness (in the honduh) went away.
