I can see two ways of responding to this.

The first would be to observe that Casio sponsors a large number of athletes and sporting events ranging from auto racing to surfing to tennis to golf.

The other would be to point out that it wouldn't change my opinion of, say, Hyundai, if they signed a hundred deals tomorrow to put their name at the top of every F1, Indy and NASCAR event in the world. They'd still make crappy cars.

Woh, woh, woh. Hyundai (and even Kia) have majorly stepped up their game. I wouldn't say Aston Martin has anything to worry about, but they are light years ahead of the ---- they were making a few years ago. And +1 on the genesis.

Braineack 03-21-2012 10:58 PM

still a kia and still a hyundai.

at least it's not a nissan.

Yes, they do. I don't care what Edmunds has to say about their 10-year reliability statistics or how many phony awards JD Power has sold them for customer satisfaction and initial quality. They are all poorly-engineered ѕhitboxes, designed by dog-eaters and assembled by rednecks, which satisfy the fundamental criteria for being "a car" only in the same way that Velveeta meets the FDA's published definition of "cheese."

Joe, how much time have you spent behind the wheel of a Genesis sedan? I "babysat" one for about two weeks and I really enjoyed it.

BTW, I just copped this bad boy:

Two Sportages and one Borrego later, and I don't wear a watch. I am going to go crawl in a hole and pull it in after me.

just got out of my daily (mazda3) and when i picked up my extra large coffee from the center console, apparently i whacked it on the shifter and proceeded to spill the entire thing down the side of my ass and onto the seat.

after jumping up out of the car in pain, i proceeded to watch the better part of 24 ounces of coffee soak through the seat in about two seconds...

at least it's going to be close to 80 today and sunny, so i can leave the windows down all day... FML

speaking of: how does one get gas smell of a trunk that happened to have a gas canister spill all over?

Leave the trunk open for a few days to let the smell go away.

Braineack 03-22-2012 10:17 AM

I've removed the carpet, hand washed it and dried it. I've kept the seats folded down and windows cracked for the last week. Everytime I drive the windows have all been down. Smell is going to knock me out on day and you're all going to lose brainy.

I think it all soaked into the cardboard that covers the spare and i need to remove that.

or just drive the miata and forget all about it.

mgeoffriau 03-22-2012 10:38 AM

You've got to burn off the fumes to remove the smell. Light a match, toss it in, back away quickly.

Braineack 03-22-2012 10:39 AM

sounds like a plan. should i remove all the shop rags and my subwoofer first?

devin mac 03-22-2012 10:54 AM

depends on the quality of the sub :-)

Yes.

Anything in your trunk is going to smell. I'd take everything out, clean the stuff, clean the inside of the trunk, maybe use an odor eliminating spray, leave the trunk open with a fan on it and the windows open for a while or better yet a small fan in the trunk placed backed up to wherever the spill occurred, that way the air being pushed out will be the air that contains fumes. If there is anything (like that subwoofer) that you cant get the smell out of but you don't want to throw out, I'd consider using some coating it in some kind of heavy spray (like plasti dip) to cover it and lock the smell in.

And y'all made fun of me for having a hard time with a slave cylinder.

Braineack 03-22-2012 11:01 AM

it was a joke btw.

gearhead_318 03-22-2012 11:06 AM

Sure it was...

:giggle:

Braineack 03-22-2012 11:07 AM

yeah, i wasnt sure if I should remove my flammable shop rags from my trunk if I light it on fire and whether i should leave my expensive subwoofer in the trunk at the same time as well.

im that dumb. avatar is real life.

Doppelgänger 03-22-2012 11:08 AM

My nose is incessantly running...so I've resorted to shoving tissues up my nose until they're soaked. Repeat every 10 minutes or so.

gearhead_318 03-22-2012 11:09 AM

That would explain your political philosophy.
