Fair enough. But you welch, and you get neutral feedback. Lucky I didn't give him negative. I'm not enough of a bastard to do that.

I deal with people fairly, I expect the same. Silly me, I guess.

I got negative feedback because a lady bid on my item, then told me I was trying to scam her and never paid. I petitioned ebay and they removed it, and gave her a non-paying bidder infraction, which I'm sure means nothing.

Also sold a laptop, shipped it, guy got it and said the sound didn't work. So me being the reasonable person, said I refund if he shipped it back. He did, I got it, item worked fine. No issues with sound. ------- d-bags bid on like 3 items, then if they win two of them they scam out whoever they feel like.

I technically sold my miata a year ago on ebay, my very first vehicle on ebay and the guy didnt pay up... then when his 24 hours was up to pay the minimum, he had some lame ass cop out excuse about he tried to send payment, and he sent me "emails" before the sale ended of how he wanted out... then proceeded to tell ebay I scammed him out of his 500 dollars for the down payment, when I was able to clearly prove he was lying, he was just given a non-paying bidder warning and sent off... while I was still stuck with my vehicle (of which now is fixed up and band-aid turboed again), and an outrageous ebay fee for posting...

...i believe if the item is over 300 dollars, you need to pay a fee kind of like a restocking fee if you bid, win, and then back out.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I had in mind. Maybe the supreme commander of the armed forces of the Conch Republic or something. I already own the requisite Hawiian shirt.

(Google conch republic if you don't get the joke)

IIRC, 4 infractions means account closure or something similar - Vash? Vash?

Yeah its something like that. I think it has to be 3-4 infractions within a 6 month or 1 year period though. So its possible they could have 15 infractions, just spread out over the years.

I do just about everything I can to avoid these types of bidders/buyers. I skim through random feedbacks regularly and add users to my blocked bidder list when I see a red flag.

Leave too much negative feedback and/or have feedbacks from sellers saying you tried feedback extortion? You're added to my block list if I happen to see it. Sure I cant get EVERYONE before they get me, but I add people on a regular basis.

I love eBay and its been really great to me over the years, but its definitely become a buyers world. You really, really need to protect yourself if you don't want to ---- up your account. Top rater seller status is hard to get in the first place and the benefits are SO worth it.

That explains why the chinese-turbo-rebuild-kit-labelled-as-garrett scammers got so angry at me when I left neg feedback over their BS.

blaen99 02-29-2012 06:39 PM

Man, it's starting to feel like every post in the tech sections are inundated with people posting trying to sell ---- instead of talk tech.

this is also why they will take almost anything (within reason) back, no questions asked.

Not a problem: I'm going to be a father in August.

badass, sir! congrats!

Vashthestampede 03-01-2012 02:32 PM

Fun fact: Just got an email regarding the motorcycle loader I have listed for a client on eBay with a number to call back. Like always, I reverse look up the number and its Lime Rock Race Track. I called and spoke with the guy and he's coming to check it out in the next couple days, but I'm probably just going to deliver it to them.

This is a great opportunity to start a relationship at the track. You never know what they may have to sell, need to buy, etc. We had the chance to do all the concrete work there back when they re-did everything, but for some reason or another we didnt get involved.
