That's an understatement.
|
Wow. $3200 for a clean, well-maintained, 200 WHP turn-key NA.
|
Yeah, I tried selling it last year as well, and it never hit the $4k reserve. I guess folks just don't want 18 year old Miatas anymore, regardless of what they look like or how well they run.
Ah, well. This clears up some much needed space. Time for the next project. |
No heart to just part it out? I daresay you could have gotten about the same amount had it been stock.

I wanted the car for the incredible crank trigger. That thing was beautiful. I actually read the entire thread on it. One of my "Must-Do" modifications in the future.

Damn. I bought my totally stock 97' 5-6 months ago for $4,500. Good paint/body, 86K miles. I'd have offered a trade if I knew in advance that you where selling the car. Makes a nice DD.
And I honestly wouldn't have wanted to trade. The point was to decrease the number of Miatas that I have. The blue one is a fine daily driver. Needs work, but now I have space to give it. |
I think I'm joining the Air Force...yah serious.

Spank you, but nah. Not useful for what I want to eventually do... IMO.

Something that would help or aid my Engineering Major. I see the Air Force as a better suitor for it. I suppose you're in the Marines, is there anyone on the board from the AF?

Too much work. Honestly, I have better things to do than dismantle the entire car and then make five trips a day to the UPS office for a month.

I wish I could have joined the Air Force, but they don't/didn't want me. It's the hardest branch to join, for sure.

Pretty much any branch can support your mech engineering, especially the Army. When I was doing shit at UCF they were the main people I was in contact with. |

How much college do you have? If you have a 4 year degree or it's equivalent then you might qualify to go to Officer Candidacy School (or whatever the AF calls it). If your looking to take advantage of your major, I'd talk to a recruiter from all 4 branches, see what they have to say and then based on that do your own research. The Army and Navy are big and might have more opportunities for you to do something in the Engineering field due to their size. (See Army Army Corps of Engineers) Remember, just because it's the Army does not mean you'll be sent into a combat situation. The AF is pretty big too and I believe supports the Army in the way that the Navy Supports the Marine Corps. The MC is smaller then the other three (I believe there are a little less then 1/4 million Marines), but if they need people with your skill set then there would be opportunities in the Corps. If your looking to make a career out of the military then look into becoming an officer, and remember, you only live once so think about what you really want to do. :2cents: |
Don't become an officer if you want to actually gain on the job experience. If you want to supervise and do admin stuff than go for officer.
Go enlisted, then Warrant if you want to become all knowing. But AF does not have Warrant officers so might as well go Army from the start. Better start research, can't make this decsion in a day. I know there are a few AF and Army on the boards that can help. Make a thread. |
