I bought the 35mm f/1.8. I find even that too close for most shots...I guess it helps since you have a full frame. I debated between the 35 and 50mm, glad I at least went 35, although now I just want like 10-18mm.

Not a full frame, just a DX.I started to do the 35mm, but apparently the 50mm offers better bokeh, and I'll be using mine more for portraits and tight shots. I'm quite sure I will upgrade to the 1.4 though, I need the extra little performance it offers. I want the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 something terrible. One of the most crisp and distortion free wide lenses available. It's a bit expensive though, at $600 it's still cheaper than anything Nikon offers, and it performs as well or better.
