I like a bandage that stays on, but the adhesive can be too strong! I just ripped a small one off my arm from a blood test earlier, and laughed afterwards because it hurt so bad, and I joked to myself that it felt like I ripped a layer of skin off. I look down... and there is blood coming out of a dime size patch, where I ripped some skin off. :giggle: Now that's bandage adhesion rite thur!

use the thin clear waterproof bandaids...they will last months.

Super glue > any bandaid. Bandaid's are for sissies. I only wore this one to keep blood off my jacket. :giggle: Really though, I hate wearing them. I'd rather air dry and heal.

Same thing for us, of course. Accessing Wikileaks could shut down the network locally while they investigate a potential spill, yada yada. I haven't tried it to see if it's unblocked on our network or not, not going to either. IMHO, we ought to find a way to shut them down. Leaking classified info :ne: free speech.

Common sense stuff for most intel dudes, but having seen some of the kids coming through the pipeline lately, I fully understand why they feel the need to say something.

I actually use super glue for most cuts. I dont know if its healthy but it damn sure works!

As for the waterproof bandaids, they remind me of putting thin vinyl strips over wounds.

That's actually what it was invented for.

I dressed as a dead soldier for Halloween about 10 years ago. The minor "cuts" I gave myself with stage makeup weren't enough, so I went for a large, gory neck wound. I used lots of fake blood, that sculpting putty stuff, and made a quite realistic looking gash. I also bandaged it with gauze and that white tape that hospitals use. The tape was a decade old, at least, and stuck more than I really wanted. When the bandage started irritating my neck, I had a friend rip it off, fast. I took a layer of skin off the front/side of my neck, and I bled for real. Quote of the year was my wife saying, "You just had to have a neck wound".

Yup, back in WWII. The stuff "Second Skin" is nothing but plain 'ole super glue as well. I used to wonder as a kid why super glue (not crazy glue) bonded so fast to my skin....I can't count how many times I stuck my fingers to each other, to my nose, to my arms.....

I can't imagine any way in which that might possibly have been perceived as offensive or tasteless.

I sold a broken xbox 360 elite on ebay for $50 and today the buyer emailed me claiming I tried to "fool" him and said I switched out the disk drive. I bought the xbox new, it broke, I tried to fix it and gave up, it sat for 2 years and then I finally listed it rather than throw it away. I never replaced any parts on it, all I did was take it apart and fuck around with the disk drive trying to get it to work again (I stated this in the auction description).

He told me that he wanted a refund and that he would leave me good feedback if I did (feedback extortion). Normally I wouldn't give two fucks about a quick $50 refund to keep my feedback clean, but the guy's name ends with "xboxmodz", so I'm sure he knows a lot more about them than I do. Thus making me weary of taking back an item that could have been tampered with and now no longer good to anyone with missing or mismatched parts.

I called ebay and asked them what I should do and they actually told me NOT to give him a refund! I mentioned the fact that if he left negative feedback that it would kill my top rated seller status and she informed me that if he does leave a negative, they will remove it for me!

Normally ebay will make sellers refund the amount once they receive the item back, and sometimes they say they cant help with feedback removal unless the buyer is willing to revise it (most wont). So this came as a surprise to me. :) I just wrote him back explaining this best I could, and since its the holiday season, I offered to refund the cost of shipping. I cant wait to see the response.

The only "bad" time I've ever had on Ebay was when I was going to buy a turbo. Guy had one listed for a good price and I bid on it and "won" it. Had a big "NR" in the title and description. After two emails he informed me that "NR" meant "needs rebuild". Now we all know that if you use ebay, you know that "NR" means No Reserve. I flaked on the auction telling him that he falsely advertised it.

I'm usually a buyer, I think I've sold like 2 things on ebay. My shit generally gets sold on CL or forums....and no bad stories there either.

FRT_Fun 11-30-2010 11:20 PM

I hate ebay now. It use to be good.

I put over and over in my listing for my fanatec wheel that it was United States only. And put for shipping, US only. And guess who won, some guy from Australia or something. After I emailed him being like wtf did you read the listing, he just said "yes I know, I bid anyway because I really want it".. WTF? Now I have no buyer, and ebay is trying to charge me the fees for selling it.

Worked out because I have used it a lot since then and glad I didn't' sell it.

I took some pics at the LA Auto show last week...and I really think this is my favorite one for some odd reason. I could make a thread in the media section of you guys want.

I joined up on some GM specific forums to try and help move this stock of parts I'm working with and it didnt go over well. I joined the forum, gave my intro, even tried to help out and comment in some threads I could help in. All I did was make mention that I had a dealership stock room at my disposal. I didnt make any FS threads, no links to my auctions, just mentioned it. They said no solicitation on the forums without being a vendor.

I understand what they mean. Jesus I can only imagine what would happen to a newbie on here that did that! I was just trying to help other enthusiasts get the best price they could, cause I know that's exactly what I do! So for now I've counted forum sales out.

One item here and there, especially if its your hangout forum, is definitely easier than going on ebay. Although you wont get what you have the potential to via auction style. So its a toss up.

EDIT: The buyer just wrote me back saying he would be happy with the refund of shipping ($11.50). Then before I was even able to respond or actually send the refund, he left positive feedback - "Fast shipping Great guy to work with Recommended Seller" To bad for him he cant revise that feedback and I'm not refunding him a dime! lol

In all seriousness though I just appreciate people LEAVING FEEDBACK. I'd say 1/10 sales I make are the ones that actually leave feedback. I don't even ask the others, I know that they'll just feel "bothered" and maybe give me a neg just for asking. Some buyers are just really difficult. Thankfully this went from an angry email, to a request for a full refund, to accepting 1/6 of the refund. Not bad. :)

I'd be all over it... if my fucking TV wasn't broken!!!

My ballast board arrives tomorrow, maybe I will get lucky and that will fix it. I'm thinking it's deeper though, power supply and/or main board. Samsung parts department sells a manual for my TV though, so I think I will get it first and look it over, see if I can determine the cause from the detailed diagrams.

We've had a 50" Sammy dlp in the den since early 2007. It hasn't had any problems besides the terrible input lag inherent in that technology and its inability to produce blacks that are any darker than a candle. Knock on wood. Get a Panasonic plasma or LCD next time you buy a TV. They're absolutely great for gaming and look good too. Good luck with that thing.
